Would it be considered bad form to use vehicle in multiple armies?

I was thinking of painting my vehicles red to symbolize they are with the adeptus mechanicus and then field them with what every army I feel like playing at the moment
I am not a tournament player and I tend to play for the fun of it more than waac.

What are your thoughts on this.

Thank,

Mond

Are we talking about using said Vehicle in, for example, Vanilla Marines, SW and Dark Angels, or a combination like Space Marines, Tau and Eldar?

If its like painting a Rhino, and then use it with different space marine flavors or sisters of battle: Then go for it.

But if you intend to try to use your Rhino in place of imperial guard chimera, your stretching in.... by a fair bit.

If you try to use your Rhino as a Devilfish or Wave serpent. No... just... no...

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....

A Rhino is a Rhino no matter how it is painted.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

This would be for marine armies only.

Can you? Yes, just as I could use a Blood Angels stormraven in a GK army because the model is the same, sans paint job. Is it actually fluffy that a vehicle would be mechanicus colors? No.

Some people might give you a little ribbing over it, but a tank's a tank. It's at least painted!

Then knock yourself out.

I actually kind of like the idea of an army being an ad-mech one with something vaguely akin in purpose to an inquisitor... but... machiney, rather than anti-heresy.

Of course, it would make more sense both in fluff and on the table if you did this with land raiders or predators or, to a lesser extent, drop pods, rather than crummy old rhinos.

If you could be bothered with the effort, you could just paint them black, or red or whatever and maybe try magnetising the little chapter symbols that you get. Then you could pop on whichever symbol is needed.

On that note - it would be refreshing to see Rhinos that are actually painted, too.

Lol. Yes.

Having it painted at all, regardless of if the colors match the army, is automatically better than most rhinos. Having it painted well, and not matching is going to be better than all but a small minority of rhinos.

Yep, should be fine as long as a rhino is a rhino, and a pred is a pred and whatnot.

Slightly off topic, I plan on making "shells" that I can put on my Tau and imperial tanks to instantly convert them into looted wagons for my Orks
