Criticism welcome. Anyway, the lord drives around and barbeques stuff, the melta squad advances in the metal bawks hoping to pop a vehicle and tie something up in close combat (only have one melta gun at the moment, but I suppose swapping the LC for another melta gun and melta bombs on the aspiring champion would be the better deal here - right?). The plasma squad provides fire support.

I've not much experience at that point level, but from what I've read and watched your list looks pretty groovy. Def try get a second melta, and never forget how useful a plain old rhino can be! After unloading troops, I've had rhinos almost single-handedly win games for me @ 1000pt.
Only concern is the bike lord running on his own, makes him rather vulnerable. Especially considering how much of a threat he is to damn near anything. You'll have to make sure you use the BBoS as an assault weapon and keep him in CC if they've got any shooty power at all.

If you dropped 5 marines off each squad you could get 4 Spawn to run with your lord. They would be a very resilient bodyguard for him at that points level.
