This may be a silly question to ask, but I have had it in my head for a good couple of days so I may as well ask it.

For some of the Multi-part Heavy Warjack/beast kits, they come with multiple heads. Could I get away with just gluing one head on while magnetizing all the other parts to make use of all the warjacks in tournaments or is there something that says no I cannot do that and have to magnetize the heads as well?

Depends on the kit. I would only magnetize the heads if it really matters to the warjack's/beast's weapon profile (ie the Convergence Cipher, Legion heavies): beyond that most people won't care what head the warjack has.

It is the Menoth Castigator/ Reckoner/ Sanctifier kit, so no for a head weapon profile. Guess I kind of asked kind "Better safe than sorry" just in case I arrive at the tournament and it is like 'Oh you cannot play that model because it has a different head'.

No one really cares for the menite jacks, so you might as well make it easy for yourself and glue them in. At least, I've never found anyone that cared, and it's pretty common to not magnetise the head, just for ease.

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

Two of those heads are very similar anyway. I have doubts anyone would even notice.

Conversion rules state you can't change the arms/weapons on a Warjacks. They say nothing about the head.

Exception to the above are the upgrade kits that are a few metal parts you add onto a plastic kit. If that contains a head, you have to use the head, as you are required to use all of the metal parts in the upgrade kit on the model.

The exception to both of the above is the Tournament Organizer, who has the final word on what is and is not acceptable.

In general if your model looks like what's it's supposed to be, and isn't likely to get confused for something else, you're probably going to be just fine.

Headswapping seems to be the most common conversion thing people do. Almost all the custom stuff ive seen are headswaps with a greenstufff addition to clothing like a hood/cloak or something, or adding streamers to their weapon.

As stated before, unless theres suppose to be a weapon there noone should care.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Also, people are a lot more flexible in person than they are when they're quoting steamroller regulations on the internet.

A general rule of thumb is to check if the head represents a weapon. For example, I could see making the case that a Stalker probably should have the muzzled mouth, but since the sword is so obvious, no one is going to think it's a Feral or Pureblood just because it has an open jaw and no muzzle.

I just realized two of my Vanquishers have different heads. I guess I didn't notice when I was building and painting them.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.
