2500pts on the nose. The idea is to harass him with the kommandos, stick the burnaz in the looted wagon with the skorcha and the tankbustas in the other looted wagon and drive them as close as possible. The stormboyz attack in waves to give the sluggas a chance to reach his lines and the shoota boyz advance and shoot...a. Except I know his army has 2 storm talon and 2 dreadknights, and like 20 paladins. I'm trying to exploit the fact that he's never faced orks before, but that strategy is only going to go so far. Those storm talons give me nightmares. How do orks contend with those?

What about 3 units of 15 tankbustas to contend with the Storm Talons? I'd have to append the list a bit then, but those flyers make me nervous.

I think this list is better prepared to take out his 2 storm talons and 2 dreadknights...and his 20ish paladins.

Storm talon or a stormraven?

If he has 20 paladins then just drown them in dakka, those 2+ saves will fail sometime.

I'm not sure what his fliers are. 2 flying things with many shooty guns. I don't understand where these Space Marine airplanes are storing all their ammo. They're all so tiny. He also fields Draigo and 2 GK Techmarines, if that means anything. I've never faced GKs before.

Unless he is taking allies it's the storm raven. They can dish out a lot of fire if kitted out correctly. BUT you have one of the best units for taking out flyers. Lootas. I might consider getting another group of them or 2 groups of 10 and stick them behind an aegis defense line and go-to-ground when necessary for a 2+cover. Drown the paladins in enough dakka and they will fall. Don't play his game and get close. Play the objective and shoot the paladins at a distance. Try to get some strength 8 to instant kill them, the zzap guns should work. Highly encourage to stay away from then and shoot them up. Draigowing doesn't work the best in 6th edition anymore because he will have to footslog up board or put some in the stormravens. The techmarines will probably have grenades on them to weaken you in combat. Or the orbital bombardment, which isn't always the best idea lol

So recap
-keep away and don't play his game (meaning don't charge them)
-play the objective
-lots of dakka

My terminators have fallen to mass shots before and it won't be the last. If you end up killing a few paladins a turn that's good. He will more than likely have low model count and smaller squads.

I was considering just standing off and shooting at him. It would totally go against what I think he expects me to do. I'm glad to know my thinking was correct. I'll update my list. Thanks!

I'd take snikkrot with burnaz for the kommandos so you are garaunteed to come out where you like and burn some tropps

2498pts this list requires me to build almost every model I have listed except the 40 shoota boyz and 7 of the lootas. I guess it's time to start an ork-in-progress thread...

Looks like a pretty good list. I play a GK army as well and I definitely wouldn't be too happy to see this on the other side of the table :]

I don't play Orks but I do play GK and it sounds as though your opponent is stuck playing his 5E army. That is the only reason I can see playing 20 Paladins. This should be an easy win for you. 1st round focus the Lotas on his best anti horde units the Dreadknights. If you can drop both of these in turn 1 he is truly screwed.
Turns 2 & 3 the Lotas focus on his fliers and the rest of your army starts killing Paladins. Don't be surprised if he deep strikes a squad of these guys in close but it shouldn't be a problem.

I like the new dakka list you did. i would wanna be on your side if you had that list! Your lootas will handle the flyers fine! maybe even some dakkajets to put tons of wounds on them dem shiny armor marines. like a great man once said if it aint dieing shoot it more!
