Have you ever been playing against someone that when you saw their list you pretty much wrote out victory before you even started. And then you somehow won?
(Wasn't sure if this should be in battle reports or something)

Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

Countless times.
I have also had many games where I was getting slaughtered but somehow pulled off a tie or win. This is the main reason I like the Objective based emphasis placed on 6e. It's not uncommon for people to get bloodthirsty when they are doing extremely well and get carried away by blowing things off the board, only to forget about objectives/troop placement or secondary objectives (line breaker is a big one).

Dice happens quite often
iv had entire squads of terminators removed by a squad of bloodthirsty fire warriors.
Its never over until you count up the points at the end of the game. or just tabled

I recently played a game where I forgot reserves the entire game (150pt handicap at 2000pts, no biggie), then proceeded to wipe my opponent -nearly- off the board. We drew at the end, him with two paladins and two strike squad marines, me with 1300 points remaining.
Sometimes you just play like a fool.

I remember my first experience with 40k was in the last month or so of 3rd edition. FLGS employee did a demo with me - I had 8 SM scouts vs 5 terminators in CC. The scouts won and the employee who was trying to show me the advantage of 2+ armour was like "ughhh that normally never happens". I now know it was very lucky

I've seen it dozen of times, WAACs and TFGs are always forgetting how much dice and luck factor into the game.

Not with Tau, if i lose i usually get absolutely crushed by turn 2/3 lol. But as Orks it happens all - the - damn - time.
My last game with my friend before we packed up our models (both of us are changing duty stations soon) we both ran a joke list. I had a weirdboy and zogwort with 30man boy blobs and they found Abbadon. Only reason i won was because i managed to roll 'Ere We Go! with BOTH units and get outta combat before Zogwort or my Weirdboy was forced to fight abbadon, and i scored his backfield objective in the process
Im sitting there going....how the hell...seriously i won? haha 'ERE WE GO!

Sure, I always lose when I face my friends necrons, but thats only because we have figured out that my GKs are extremely conductive and my dice love him.
