Excited About the Great Crusade

It seems to be that nothing much had been said in the Horus Heresy books, but the Eldar were never really addressed by the Primarchs. They obviously seemed more humanoid than most Xenos they have encountered, so I wonder why they never decided to even talk with them. I mean the Eldar knew about the Heresy and how it would end. Would a Primarch ever consider the idea? I ask this because I am having a Pre Heresy game and one of the players brought it into question. I mean the Emperor of Mankind does not want to be worshipped, yet it turns out he is a god (as revealed in Flight of the Eisenstein). Since this is before the Inquisition, shouldn't there be some exceptions?

I don't know but maybe the Eldar knew it was going to have a massive toll on everything. So if they decided to help the Imperium, they would of definitely have a suffered more losses and maybe thats why they didnt bother asking for help cause they would just say "no". Like I said, I don't know if Im really correct on that, maybe Im wrong.

I don't believe Black Library has expanded on it but Collected Visions noted the Space Wolves were aided 'by an unexpected quarter' on Yarant - and waaay back in the original (Adeptus Titanicus/Space Marine 1st edition) Codex Titanicus it was the Eldar who aided the Imperium in the Yarant system ("We do not fight for your Emperor, we fight against Horus!")

Eldrad set up a meeting with Fulgrim to warn him about the dangers of Chaos.

Spoiler:
It didn't end well.

Some dudes of the Iron Hands/Raven Guard/Salamanders enlist the aid (unwillingly) of the Eldar in Angel Exterminatus.

Mankind in the great crusade became very arrogant and probably did not want the "help" from any alien races.

When the heresy came, it was a huge blow to mankinds trust and feelings towards loyalty. If Horus(the emperors favored son) is betraying us, should we trust the pointy eared sorcerers?

Limited help might have been offered, but I doubt it would have been taken.
