Privateer Press is releasing their new Deck Building card game, High Command, at Gencon over in the US, and so they've put out the rules and details for it a little early. The base set will be playable out of the box (like a board game, or Dominion), and will get expansions and extra cards as time goes on. They're also doing Tournament support for it, so it can be a competitive game as well as a casual board game.

The game will be available from the end of the month (28th). They're also doing a pre-release of the Hordes: High Command (compatible box with another 4 factions in it), but that won't be out as a general release for a couple of months yet.

Sounds pretty awesome altogether.

CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES ON YOUR PATH TO CONQUEST

I'll be curious to see how well it plays out. Hopefully the game is better than that box art!

Played the game a few days ago, or at least tried to. The wording on how to deploy your units normally was very confusing.

Assuming you have a card in your hand to deploy, don't you just put it down and discard enough other cards as resources to pay it's Purchase price? That's assuming you'd already Purchased it from the market and had it come back through your deck.

I suppose it's a little confusing that you have to purchase a card into your deck and then purchase a card from your hand to the table.
