As I want to add a SM Chapter as Allies for my Space Wolves I´d like to know if there are chapters out there who share a friendship or at least a renowned past with the Wolves.

The rivalry between the Space Wolves and the Dark Angels has periods of time where it is much more friendly and fosters mutual respect between them, though at other times it's much more hostile.
Ten thousand years is a really long time, emotions can go either way.

It doesn't really come under history now (since GW rolled the clock back to before it happened) but during the 13th Black Crusade Grimnar was elected supreme commander of Astartes forces. The Unforgiven, the Relictors and latterly (after their Chapter Master went MIA) the Marines Errant were notable for doing their own thing, but almost all the other chapters involved submitted to his authority.

I can't think of any documented examples. But it would stand to reason that they would get along better with those Chapters that put more value in the lives of common man. So that's Salamanders straight off the bat, and I would think Blood Angels too. By contrast, while they are probably going to rouse the ire of the Codex-loving Ultramarines, diplomacy on both sides (yes, Grimnar is a great diplomat) means they can still work together well when needed.

Great, the combination of dour stoicism and knee-slapping antics means I now have a Belial/Lukas buddy comedy in my head, in the same vein as Cable/Deadpool.

Yup - if you read his Codex entry, it explains at length how he's well respected throughout the Imperium and how he's a great motivator and speaker as well.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Off the top of my head, Salamanders.
They're also a nice counterpart - obsessed with flame and meltas, and hard things, and scales, and things that burn fur and hair...
And then there's the Space Wolves.
I can imagine what'd happen. It wouldn't be pretty.

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

The Space Wolves, themselves, are popular across most of the Imperium. Every time one of the Great Hunts is called, the Chapter goes ranging far and wide and, though they have not yet found Russ, each one of these Hunts ends up running into some nasty, monstrous thing that is threatening some Imperial world or another...
... and so the Space Wolves, of course, kick its ass and the people build statues in their honor and there's a whole lot of "Logans" and "Bjorns" and other, Viking-themed names given to children on that world for a generation or five.
The SW are one of the most-popular Chapters in the Imperium amongst the common people, the majority of whom have never heard of Armageddon or know anything of the events that went on there.

I am sure they still are very close.
Both chapters fields "tactical marines" with ubergrit. Both chapters field terminators with power weapons rather than fists and combi melta/ plas in lew of stormbolters. Both chapters have an affinity for Axes.
I am seeing a lot of similarities.

He was a terrible diplomat in Emperor's Gift, to the point that Bjorn had to tell him to sit down and shut up.

I agree with who said the white scars, for one they are very similiar in their cultures (tribal, primitive, fierce). Also its stated on lexicanium that when the Khan was in theChondax system and heard from Dorn about Horus' betrayal, Dorn pleaded for him to return to terra, Russ then contacted the Khan and offered to have their legions unite and travel together as a unified force to fight against Horus. So that to me sounds like their primarchs were friendly towards one another. I think thats from brotherhood of the storm? But maybe a diff source. Dark angels could be cool too

I think the best you can hope for is a non-negative relationship, like with White Scars due to cultural similarities, or Ultramarines who are always professional (and Guilliman considered Russ one of his more dependable brothers).
I don't think anyone actively likes the Space Wolves. You're lucky just to find someone without a blood feud or grudge against them, something that's becoming rarer and rarer.

Possibly, but at the same time the rivalries would most likely be the fiercest between those chapters. The first founding chapters are, for the most part, archetypes of marine combat. Each one feels their way is the best, and frequently look down on the ways the other first foundings fight.
I'm not sure about the Space Wolves and Blood Angels getting along really well, but I can't think of any incidents between the two so its likely that they're at least neutral with each other.

Im kinda more partial to white scars they kindof have a similar mentality (im my eyes to the space wolves) but so do salamanders so I guess its a toss up. I kinda figure if they can be battle brothers according to the chart in the rule book then so be it at some point they may have worked together without killing eachother so it works...

I thought they had good relations with the ultramarines due to the fact that they are *on paper atleast* the best chapter at everything. Or they were until the Damocles crusade. Which reminds me after reading the farsight supplement I noticed the Ultra's weren't mentioned during the fighting it was always some obscure chapter mentioned. Why is this?
