Our club meta is around 1000 - 1500.
my current collection of eldar toys is:
2 farseers, one on bike (soon to be a third on bike)
18 bikes (2 squads of 9 with 3 cannons in each)
2 fireprisms
1 wraithlord
10ish dire avengers (they seem to have fallen out of favor in the new book)
5 rangers (cause i like the model and wanted something cool to paint)
2 war walkers
My questions I suppose is:
1) whats peoples favorite load out for these
2) best tactics/best practice for these
3) is a third one worthwhile or can 2 get the job done?
4) are they adequate anti air?

Generally two best combos....
All bright lances, or SC and StC.
If you have three war walkers with all bright lances guided, then it's ok as anti air.... And also really exoensive.
2 will get the job done, three will get it done way better.

Best in squadrons of three. I've always run them with scatter lasers. Some folks are experimenting with Scatter Laser/Brightlance combos. They are marginal anti-air even with guide. Someone ran the numbers in a thread here a while back.

whats the general verdict on scatter laser/flak missles? that's what I was thinking of doing with em and some holofields. Our tables are generally pretty dense with cover so i can catch some 4+ cover +1 for holofields

SC/SL or BL/BL, upgrades aren't usually worth it.

I can't imagine BL/BL is good anti flyer, my main concern is heldrakes since their AP 3 flamers kill my bikes like crazy

A good way to get Wave Serpents on the board with limited points is to use 5 man DA unit. So don't think that your DA purchase is wasted money! They can still do good things for you.

1) BL, BL or SL, SC
2) Depends on load out. BLx2 AT, SL anti-troops
3) two is good, three are better - list dependent though...If you need the points more somewhere else, then go with 2.
4) meh - Wave serpents are better than WW.

Well, I'd give them scatterlasers and let a Farseer cast prescience or guide to twinlink these weapons.

I find that most lists have plenty of anti infantry weapons found in the Wave Serpents, Warp Spiders, Jetbikes, Fire Prisms and such. Therefore its usually useful to load out the walkers with 2x BL to deal with tanks, especially AV 14.

6 BLs are handy if you're up against Land Raiders, Battlewagons, Monoliths and decent against AV13. Don't forget that 6 S8 shots also put the hurt on T4 multiwound infantry. They get a 5++ default, so yea, if ya got War Walkers always use them.
Or just go 6 Scatter Lasers; 24 shots sounds good too

so i tried out a few 750 games today, 2 walkers with 4 scatter lasers is DIESEL! vs marines & nurgle CSM. granted it was low points cost and at 1000-1500 they might be more fragile than at 750, also marines can't bring anything worthwhile at 750 but for play testing purposes they were fun. i tried 2 walkers on a heldrake with flakk missles and it was kinda meh, i think Crimson hunter is the go-to anti air and it might be my next purchase after i flesh out a second squad of bikes. Thanks again to everyone and their suggestions/comments
