At the moment it's just a brainstorm, but as I've recently god a rather hefty amount of cash, and more free time than usual, I think it may be time for some fun!
SO. As we all know, the DKoK are a siegey trenchy attritiony army with a large focus on artillery and 'ard as nails infantry. With this in mind, we learn than your normal kreig list is great at clearing objectives with massed artillery fire, yet struggles to take them due to lack of transports and fast stuff, and though their infantry is stabby and won't run away, is expensive and lacking in special weapons right?
Right.
To combat this, I had an idea of introducing a Blitzkrieg style theme to the army, using stock IG codex as allies with either the assault brigade or the Siege one. (not sure which yet, but the IG codex will be the detachment or whatever it's called) The main chunk of the army will be platoons of stock infantry with no upgrades, in cover and protecting the big guns ( which will most likely be mortars/ Earthshakers) and maybe a engineer unit to cause a bit of nuisance in their big drill thing.
Then the music starts. Wagner ahoy!
The IG lads will show up (using Krieg or Steel legion models) in valks, vendettas and vaste everyzink, und cap ze objectives!
be expensive, and the 2 forces probably will die before they complete objectives, but for the pure greatness of playing something like that, may be worth it.
And the Krieg models look like sex, but that's just me.
