were the dark eldar active during the great crusade? we all know that the eldar of the webway found out how to avoid the draining of their souls by slaanesh after the fall, and tortured and killed others so the could regenerate themselves. i want to know did they raid alot during the great crusade/horus heresy? i know that the white scars returned to their homeworld after the heresy and found that the dark eldar had been raiding the planet.

My question is, did the dark eldar look the same? the equipment, vehicles, gravcraft, etc. would the dark eldar look more like their forbearers, the ancient eldar, or would they still look the same as in the 41st millenium, spikes, chains, hooks, etc?

They were active during the Great Crusade, as the Salamander's homeworld Nocturne was repeatedly raided by them until Vulkan kicked their butts.

Trends and fashion change quite often in kommeragh, I think a lot was left to the imagination in there codex but I do remember reading about facial scarring being a fashionable thing in kommeragh.

I thought I had read somewhere that the Eldar weren't sure whether Comorragh had survived the fall for a couple millennia or so after the fact, and that the Dark Eldar only revealed their continued existence sometime in M32 or something.

I could be wrong about all this thou, since I don't remember where I read this...

Daemons--5000
Death Guard --2000
Daemons--15000
Word Bearers--10000

Total investment in the Forces of Chaos: 38,000

Well they weren't the Dark Eldar yet as Vect wouldn't take charge for a while, so they'd still be ruled by noble houses and such and all the sub-realms wouldn't be joined to Commorragh.
I think there was a not-yet-Dark Eldar in Angel Exterminatus and if I recall correctly he was looking to steal a bunch of Soul Stones for his masters in some attempt to stave off the thirst; so they were still working out what to do I suppose.

i guess the colour schemes for the eldar of the webway, the not yet dark eldar, would be something more colourful compared to the 40k kabal schemes.

the DE were there. As pirates they usually strike where it is easiest. So during the great crusade, they probably would have struck planets outside of the crusade where mankind was weakest or far behind the lines where the new IoM felt safe. Being about as strong as they are now, or weaker, they probably wouldnt have gone toe to toe with one of the great crusade fleets.

During the HH, the thought of genetically enhanced purple marines running a much probably sent them into their beds in terrible fear. Before this humans(much less genetically engineered supermen) had not really fallen to She Who Thirsts and the DE(all eldar) probably liked it that way. Seeing Horus go over to Chaos, and the Emperors Children go over to Slanesh probably terrified the DE who I assume his in the webway for a while. Once horus was defeated, I am sure the DE came out and took some pot shots against the traitors(not EC) and remaining loyalists alike grabbing up some primo loot during the scouring. Again they probably were a little scared of what would happen.

It is in the 10,000 years since, as IoM has stagnated and declined that the DE have gotten bolder. Bold enough to launch raids on Mars, bold enough to take entire chapters of SMs as slaves, bold enough to do what they want when they want how they want.

yes, just about anything is possible, and 10,000 years ago things would have looked a little different.
