Kind of curious if anyone else knows about this, because I am kind of wanting to try this out. From what I have seen, it is a Homebrew Mod of the FFG 40k RPG Dark Heresy, so you need to have the base rulebook to play that (although I think the authors are making V3 its own system) that is based around the Neon Genesis Evangelion universe, sans the characters you might know and love and less of the Mind screw (sort of) in place you make your own adventure and pilots and so on.

I only kind of ask since I am looking to try and get into it maybe if anyone plays it online.

Seems like a bizarre system to use for simulating Eva.

Indeed.

From what I have read around, I think the author of it is going to try to make it its own system in Version 3, but then again, I only played the Dark Heresy system once so I am not really an expert on it. :/

I can see using a percentile system and insanity but that just gets me to Call of Cthulhu, not DH. I wonder why they went with DH?

Never played Call of Cthulhu, but what is the main difference between that and Dark Heresy that would make it fit better for AdEva?

The only thing I am saying about CoC is that it has the basic elements from DH that I think are suitable (more or less) for simulating Eva. I mean, all the additional stuff DH has would need to be re-engineered for Eva anyway. If you want a more natural fit for Eva, I'd say use CthulhuTech -- a game which was inspired in a very large part by Eva anyway.

Also, I think the any insanity mechanic would need to be revamped to be more about self-esteem and neuroses rather than sanity and full-blown psychoses.

In any case, using DH as a base just seems like it would be a ton of work.

Yeah, it does say that DH was not really working for them, so they are going to try and make it its own independent game version 3, but 2.5 clears up as much as they can. Here is a link from 1d4chan with the downloads and things you would need to get started at least (Well except illustrations of your PCs).

Played with one of the "newer" editions, may have been the 2.5 or indie edition, but I forget which (was awhile back). Holds up surprisingly well if you don't try to hard line it too much. Takes a bit of hand waving at times but if you like Eva it's as good a system as any (though i'm curious if I could play this with BRP cthulhu now...mental disorders and people turning into tang is kinda CoC's shtick...)
