So I've found some cool models (well they're new to me) that made me want to create an IG army. They remind me of WWII German solider so I wanted to base them around Germans. My question on fluff is "Were countries separated by culture enough to have a planet colonized by mostly people of German descent to bring enough culture/language to said planet?" I wanted to liter my army with German names for soldiers and leadership positions. So I was wondering if I could do this and still have it go with the 40k fluff.

Now these are the models I was planning to use.

I plan to use these guys with for the normal guardsmen.

I plan to use these guys as some sort of elite. Haven't decided yet.

Now I have no experience with models besides GW products, and was wondering what glue should I use for these guys.
Any one who helps in any way is awesome and I thank you. Also if this is in the wrong forum, I apologies.

There are a million worlds in the imperium, you can do whatever you like with your IG. German IG, especially WW2, is a fairly common theme so there should be good pics around for inspiration.

Both those ranges are plastic and you can use plastic cement with them.

The Eisenkern range is great and will make great IG stormtroopers, carapace vets etc. The Greatcoat troops are ok, the sprues have lots of options iirc but they're not regarded as the highest quality sculpts. They're cheap for the quantity though and work well for what they are.

Thanks for the input, and is plastic cement the same as the GW plastic glue?

Yep same thing, though GW glues are pretty poor by all accounts. Revell Contacta is a commonly used and good plastic glue that I can recommend.

Hey Insane. Check the link in my signature if you want to see one man's take on German WW2 IG using the Greatcoat models. For a gamer on a budget, they're excellent figures, though they do require a bit more elbow grease to get the best out of them.

The Greatcoat Shock Troopers are not made of a special material, you can treat them the same way that you'd treat GW plastics.
