For me it's the second list. I think it has more staying firesupport. Perhaps for a better reply you can tell us what type of tyranid opponent we're talking about and what tactics you want to use?

If i have to give a more accurate opinion the then for tyranids i'dd play two mono's and some 8x immortal squads with lords in them. And for hq i'd take the immortal boosting cryptec.

The second i feel can do better against nids. However... I'm not sure if I remember, but if hes bringing a lot of MCs then the deathmarks can use the sniper rule on their weapons? That couls make it easier. My 2 cents.

Why the hell do you have Phaeron on your Overlord?
Is this your first time playing Necrons?

Why the phaeron? Ah just read the comment above mine, is it racist to say ninja'd in relation to a japanese user?

List 1, but you need to split the deathmarks into 2 squads of 5. I assume that all immortals have Tesla.

Reason : Deathmarks wound on a 4+, pinning (2+ and pinning for marked unit) - for dealing with high toughness MC
Lychguards have a 3++, which you are going to need as MC attacks are AP2.

And, because twice is never enough :-D, why the Phaeron? Were you planning gauss immortals, rapid firing then assaulting? If so, I'd recommend that you reconsider. Assaulting nids with Crons tends to end disastrously (the whole I2 being swept problem).

Minor correction so OP isn't confused: Lychguard shields only grant 4++.
They come with a 3+ naturally... but that's not going to mean much up against the big bugs, hence the need for a shield.

Either way, if you go up against 'Nid players with one of these lists, unless they're completely inexperienced, I would not expect you to do very well.
