I got a storm talon a while ago. Almost done putting it together, but pieces 86 and 87 don't have a place in the instruction booklet. They look like they belong on the side sponsons where the missile launchers/skyhammer/bolter/lazcannon go. But in the instruction booklet, all of the weapons use 63/84 64/85.

My guess is you use them for the heavy bolter and lazcannon.

ALSO: How do you magnetize the bolter front/back/side as well as the lazcannon front/back/side, they seem so damn small for magnetization, but I do plan to use both of them on different occasions and dont want to commit to just one. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure there is a better way to do it then what I did, but I magnetized mine.

First thing, I didn't bother with the sides. Just the missile pods. If I do put one of the guns on there, it won't have it's power packs/ammo hoppers. More diligent modelers probably could have made something work. It seemed a lot of effort for something I wasn't planning on using.

I drilled a hole in the pod facing behind where the guns would be. I green stuffed a place for the magnet to sit, one magnet deep. Then glued a magnet to the back of each of the gun front plates. This way the magnet on the front plate slots into a little hole and clicks in. The ones on the gun plates were rough, as they kinda hang over the slot for the guns, making for a very fragile contact. I fully expect them to snap off. Did I mention I wasn't happy with the job I did? For the guns, I drilled a small hole in the back and put the shaft of a small nail in them. There is enough metal there for the magnet to grip, holding it in.

The two pieces you are talking about are the missile pod sides. The ones with the indention are for the LC and HB, while the smooth sided ones are for the missiles. They messed up the instructions and labeled them the same number.

Here is what I did to magnetize them -

If you go to my gallery I left an explanation of what magnets I used and such. Probably over kill in most peoples eyes, but I prefer the ability to use all the options on a model. You never know what will change when they come out with a new rule book.

I'm heading to work, but if you have any questions, I'll check back later today, or you can PM me.

Hope this helps out.
