So I picked up a pretty full Nomad army at GenCon, and my group is looking to really start digging into the rules. I'm a bit anal retentive about counters, and they're important in infinity, so I'm going to order some of the Micro Art ones, but I don't know which I should order.

I'm going to order, for sure, the "starter" set that includes the regular orders and wound markers, but for our first few games, which other ones are going to be important for a Nomads player?

Thanks in advance!

Camo, Link, Prone, Wound and Unconscious are the counters I use regularly. Suppression Fire, Unloaded, Mines or Foxhole are pretty situational, but I also use them sometimes. For a Nomad player, I suppose Repeater, Immobilised or Possesed might be in handy.

I would consider suppression fire a regularly used skill, or at least it should be.

Warsenal also has a nice selection of Infinity markers.

I also sell the official ones on a pick-and-mix basis: http://store.wargamingtrader.com/infinity/mas-tokens

It depends a bit on your specific models, but for Nomads I'd look at:

Regular Orders
1W or Unconscious
Immobilised (for hacked, glued & E/M-hit models)
Suppression Fire x 1-2
Prone x 2-4
Mines 1-2
Camo x 1-5 of different colours.numbers.

Another option if you want a cheap alternative is to print onto nice glossy paper, and scale them so they fit perfectly onto the back of a Mantic Warpath base (which are dirt cheap). You can do the same with basic GW-style bases, although the Mantic ones have an indentation at the bottom which makes them easier to pick up if you don't have nails

You know that the boxed sets include tokens that you can cut out and place onto 25mm bases right?

I've looked into ordering some MAS tokens but cannot justify it--yet.

A friend of mine has the official MAS ones and they are very, very nice. Certainly use them instead of my home-made ones if we have the chance, although like you say they are not the cheapest option.

Would definitely go for the Wargaming Trader ones if I were buying - actually cheaper than the separate ones from the MAS website, and if you choose carefully you won't have any redundancy.

I occasionally grab a pack of tokens at my FLGS. Right now I've bought the Orders pack, one of the Special packs, and the Wounds pack. I'll continue to grab random packs, since both my opponent and I make use of them.

I've thought about just printing them out, and I do have some of the cutouts, but at this point I think I'd rather just pay for the MAS ones or perhaps those warsenal ones because I'd like something that requires the least amount of work for me .

I got all of my new nomad stuff for "free" at gencon (it was all part of my "payment" for working for the war store fellas) so these tokens will really be the first actual dollars I put into the army.

Now if I can figure out which remotes I should get

What I did was print out a bunch of the token sheets (at 97% magnification), cut them out, then put a drop of pva glue on one and rubbed a 25mm acrylic base on it until it squeezed out all excess PVA, leaving the covering foil on the other side of the acrylic base. then laid a bunch of them out on a piece of cardboard, foil (top) side down, and sprayed black primer followed by varnish onto them. It works really well; if you have a decent laser printer you get better-looking tokens than the MAS ones this way and I prefer the black edges. it's really cheap; a pack of 50 of those bases will run about $12 shipped via ebay if you're careful where you buy. It's a lot of work, though
