I am model restricted now, but Id be willing to buy more models if the list was attractive enough. My model list is pretty similar to above now (already made my purchases), but like I say, don't be afraid of showing me some other interesting list ideas for 1850. Here's what I have:
2 Overlords (Converted from Catacomb Command Barge)
7 Crypteks
-
40 Warriors
20 Immortals (Magnetised to allow for either Gauss or Tesla)
-
2 Arks (Magnetised to either be Ghost Arks or Doomsday Arks)
1 Croissant Ship (Magnetised to either be Nightscythe or Doomscythe)
-
2 Barges (Magnetised to either be Annihilation Barges or Catacomb Command Barges)
-
6 Wraiths (3 with Whip Coils, 3 without)
-
13 Scarab Swarm Bases
----------------------------------------------------------
My plan with the 21 man blob is to make them advance slowly, whilst trying to get Zahndrehk and his Royal Court zoom up the table. Zahdrehk Staff of Light homies will try and aim for a squad of Armour Value 3+ dudes, and then when the enemy brings something heavy to bear against him, get an accurate teleport with Obyron so there's no scatter to move up the blob beside him as well. If there's a vehicle there, then Zahndrehk will give the blob tank hunter as well, to gausathon it to death. I wont be using the deepstrike of Obyron in many other situations.
As for the Immortals, their purpose is to hold back for most of the game, unless the enemy has Armour 4+ troops sitting back on an objective, in which case their job is to jump behind enemy lines and pick off the 4+ guys (ideally out of range of other stuff, or behind cover). Their presence is almost meant to be an intimidation factor for any army whose troops aren't MEQ, so that they need to all stick together in one large pile, that way I can get more board control (due to VoD). Mind you against MEQ armies, I'd probs go Tesla. Though I do like the flexibility of quickly moving Zahndrehk via VoD then jumping Oby's unit right beside him, whatever it might be. ...... hmmmm food for thought.
Any other suggestions?
