Just wondering if there are any great ideas for custom made big shootas out there?

I'm looking at adding another 2-3 to my list and I'm after something that looks a little different.

Any ideas would be great!

Are you looking for the big shoota ork or just the gun?

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

Not sure if this is what you want but...

it's easy to convert shootas to big shootas. You simply need three sizes of plastic tubing, 3.2, 4.8 and 6.4 mm from memory. This is how the fella on the right was done - I simply sawed off the barrel of his shoota, and replaced it with the tubing.

The boy on the right is converted from a shoota to a big shoota. The boy on the left is converted from a slugga to a shoota.

The fella on the left is converted from a slugga to a shoota, using the shoota's sawn-off barrel. You need to cut and greenstuff the wrist and shoulder, as the slugga arms otherwise won't curl across the body as necessary. I haven't greenstuff'd him yet. Yes, I know their left arms are slightly out of position - they dropped while the plastic glue was drying, grr...

I bought around 5 tubes from Howard Scenic supplies for £3.15, that would be enough to convert literally hundreds of shoota or big shoota boys. Hopefully they will work for bike bits too.

Apologies in advance if these are boring and not what you're looking for...

And mix in a few looted heavy bolters - with extra rivets and a new ammo feed to represent a mek having 'repaired' it into something that now counts-as a big shoota.

Well if you want something a bit simpler, do what I do. Clip the rokkit end off of the stick rokkits that come in the boy kits, and glue on the ends and barrels of shootas onto it. Looks awesome and is really really easy to do. Plus you get to use the rokkits for other cool stuff.
