Hi

A few comments :
- no the psybolt does not affect psycanon, in the codex it lists exactly what it impacts and unfortunately psycanon are not concerned (it would be too OP^^)
- Dont take the gatling for the Dreadnight its the worst weapon, take a heavy incinerator instead, try it and love it

Against guards i would also advice to take a teleporter on the Dreadknight so you can charge his artillary turn 2

- for the terminators i am not a huge fan (unless the list has a purpose with it) and would suggest another strike squad instead

For guards a very efficient tactic is to take interceptor as well as a dread, so you can tp turn one, burn a lot of stuff and then assault turn 2...however this would mean taking out the Storm.

To be honest for 1k points a storm and Dreadknight and Termi means you really have few points, over half of it is in the Storm which might die from interceptor fire or vendetta and that would make you loose half your army...
I would suggest to take off the Storm and Termis, replace it with more Strike squads, interceptors and a better geared Dread.

Good luck

Totally agree with Sleekid. The only thing I disagree with is that the teleporter isn't just good against IG. Tau, Eldar, and DE all hate teleporter lists. Since Tau and Eldar are 2 of the 3 best armies now at this point level this army makes sense.
And yes take the heavy incinerator and love it. Every hoard and cover heavy army hate it. Your only real problem is Necrons. At 1K it is very hard for GK to have a complete all comers list though.

I guess the gattling psylencer could work against IG, and propably only there due to the bad armour save of the guardsmen and 12 shots from the psylencer (good chance you actally hit something). Nonetheless the Incinerator usually works with higher effectiveness since it denies cover saves.
Also, usually the falchions and the brotherhood banner are not worth their points (imo).
I am (opposed to others) a huge fan of terminators, but I am not quite sure if I'd use them against IG, because they are few and costly. You get better cost-effectiveness with a strike squad and taking as much psycannons as you can get.
Compared to IG, as a GK player you have a rather short range, so they can outshoot you easily, so I'd take as much firepower (and shots) and anti-tank as I can get.
In doubt, look at the tactics threads and see if you can find strategies against IG.

Don't forget to have fun, even if the battle's lost^^

I would try to get the Inquisitor level one mastery to get re-roll spell (forgot the name, brain fart). As mentioned above, drop the falchions and the banner, or the terminators altogether and get another strike squad.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Agree with all the input that you've gotten already. As soon as you try to get level 1 on the Inquisitor, then he becomes more of a liability to the army. He's in term armor so he can't catch a ride in a rhino or r'back, can't sweeping advance, etc. I can see the draw of an additional psycannon for 80 points. But after he crosses the 100pt threshold, then you'll be better served with Coteaz. For fewer points he has more abilities, can fit into any vehicle you want, opens henchmen, and is level TWO! So with a good roll you can reroll hits with prescience, AND ignore cover with perfect timing. Or, you can reroll hits AND force your target to reroll successful saving throws with misfortune.

What about this?

Coteaz (roll twice on divination. If you get a 5 or 6 dump it for prescience. If you get a 3 or 4 keep it. If a 1 or 2, it's your call. Take prescience with the second roll if you don't have it already.) Joins the GKSS on foot, or goes with one of the R'backs to run upfield and join the other GKSS in midfield.

GKSS x10, psycannon x2, psybolt, rhino
GKSS x10, psycannon x2, psybolt
WA with boltgun X5, r'back, psybolt
WA with boltgun X5, r'back

Dreadknight, heavy incinerator, P. Tel.
