Do you want to know how to scratchbuild in general or this specific tank?

For general tank scratchbuilding i'd suggest plasticard (1mm or even 2mm). Plan out the measurements of your tank and break it down into different sections and parts. But keep the thickness of the plasticard itself in mind.
And you could use 40k paper models as reference for that. Here for example are some of them: http://www.4shared.com/dir/2PQOMQdP/Eli_Patoroch.html#dir=2PQOMQdP
And here is the griffon: http://www.4shared.com/office/x6NXzqdc/90_Griffon__%D1%82%D0%B5%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F_.html
