It looks like it could be a fairly solid list but my only problem is that you're using the Enclave book for it, believe me. I love the book, it is my favorite codex (even though it is only a supplement) but it's very taxing and shouldn't be taken unless you're going to take full advantage of it. More or less you are paying approximately 56 points (from all the bonding knives) just to make that 1 squad of crisis suits into troops. I see their purpose to be mechanized objective grabbers, but you already have the Devilfish riding FW for that. If you're going to bring a Farsight Enclave, take full advantage of it. Things like the Earth Caste Piloting array, more crisis teams, a battlesuit commander with a drone controller attached to some marker drones (in lieu of the static pathfinders). I mean it could work, but I feel that you're paying way too much to make a squad of suits into troops

Also if memory serves Longstrike gives you Blacksun filter so you don't need to take it again

The points weren't right for the farsight codex anyway. The list stays the same but the suits move to the last elite slot.

Question:
Which build do you think is better:

Devilfish are a very bad idea, 80 points means they are the worst transport in the game.

The Enclave list is really only good if you want lots of suits since for a 3 point per unit tax, you rally on normal Ld when you run out of drones (remember they count as normal squad members) on your broadside and crisis teams. You should maximise on that.

I am not sure I agree about the devilfish here. They are tough to kill and deliver 105 S5 shots where they need to be. I feel that the hammerheads, skyray, and riptides will draw the bulk of the >S6 shots, so the fish should be able to work for a few turns.

Maybe I am wrong, I will be playtesting starting next week. I need to get 1 more hammerhead and 1 more riptide tomorrow to finish the army.

The thing is fire warriors do not need to close the distance to start dealing and that by driving them closer you are removing one turn of shooting with little retaliation and are making it easier for your enemy to get them into close combat.

I understand what you are saying. I am driving them around to keep them alive until I need them. If they are on the board, they can shoot (but most opponents will minimize the targets for them) but they can be shot as well. I hope that the 3 fish will force bad choices for my opponent and keep my scoring units alive long enough for my elites and heavies to clear out the biggest threats.

I might be wrong, but I played fish of fury in 4th and I know how to use the fish to block the warriors while they do their thing. I think it will somewhat translate here.

So you think I should drop all 3 fish and take some outflanking kroot instead?

(Added this line)> Devilfish are not that useful...
Unless you are planning on taking mid-field objectives and/or are using carbines.

It may not happen often, but that one time you pin a squad of terminators in your DZ

I don't have the farsight supp.. BUT, do the enclaves get to use longstrike in thier lists without empire as allies?

Also, the HBC is generally better with a VT than Iontides

Mathhammer vs av 12
Ion = 1.5 hits, .5 hull points lost
HBC 4 hits, 2/3rds hull points lost
Nova HBC 6 hits, 1 Pen

The riptides are there primarily for the AP2 large blasts (and fusion) With proper placement, I can dictate where the opponents flyers come in. Once they are where I would like them to be, I have a LOT of markerlights and enough skyfire to do what must be done.
