Terminators deepstrike w/ the libby have a 4++ and twin linked shooting all game and if assaulted still remain strong this also provides me with a solid AA unit.

To me it pretty much sums the DA codex up and shooty army with alot of punch @ 24" away while still remaining survivable
puts me at 168 bolter shots 2 large templates and enough assault cannons to deal with AA

That leaves me 45 points shy of my goal any input on what to use it on? Also any input on what should be adjusted?.

This list will get ripped to shreds. I play DA and you cant have foot slogging marines in this edition, Tau, Eldar and so many other factions would wipe your guys off the board before you Run up and get into salvo threat range.

Even with a distraction uinit for me to get into place with a shield wall for cover saves?

I have 45 points left im sure i could clear enough to add another pfg on a jump pack libby for the foot sloggers.

While I don't share VillageZach's complete response. I do think you will need more than just tactical squads. I have a similar list but I also field some tanks and flyers, special and heavy weapons in each squad. The Salvo Bolters are nice but you'll find problems when it comes to longer range weaponry killing your marines.

Of course, YMMV, and the amount of terrain on the board will affect how this list (and any) list performs.

The PFG means you have to bunch up all your Terminators so I wouldn't take it.

You want at least 3 stormshields here or an MC and concentrated shooting will rip this unit to pieces. Also, using SB/PF is preferable to LC's as until your ablative Hamernators get killed they're as good as TH/SS as far as you care.

Anything that won't be annihilated by 30 Tactical Marines under the SOD is probably an MC, in which case the extra shots will make little difference. You don't need anymore than that.

This is really quite out of place, you can't fit all the Termies in here and there are far more efficient sources of firepower.

Naff, easy to neutralize, don't fit well with a static list and they're not Tri-Las predators. They would be a far better option, as you can tackle AT and MC's with them quite well.

Pffft don't make me crank out the Math hammer.I can assure you that they are crap AA. Also, you are investing far too much in a mediocre unit.

A Helldrake, Riptide spam and MC circus would have a field day with this list. You have one unit that can 'tackle' an MC, and at that only a lesser one. Your AA is abysmal and located in one unit that will be busy doing everything else.

In addition, this list would do well with two alterations:

Combi-plasma spam Company Vets in a DP or another reliable MC killer like either flavour of Knights .

An ADL, absolutely mandatory. Enough coverage to house all your marines regardless of terrain density or placement and 2+ cover saves when you GTG.

The PFG means you have to bunch up all your Terminators so I wouldn't take it.
When deep striking they will already be bunched up, ive rolled this out about 100 times and literally ive got at least 1 rend every 1-2 rolls(results may very but its really not hard to roll a 6 when you roll that many dice forts aren't the best hince they can be destroyed easy and even taken over. If they concentrate firepower into my terminators they leave me enough time to get into 24" with the rest of my army

The LRC is there to hold the command squad so they don't die to cannon fodder.


I was told terminators aren't worth the points anymore but the only game ive played a 5 man squad wrecked face in a backfield for 4+ rounds before it was killed, doubling that a 10 man should be durable the pfg was simply there to protect when they deepstrike with 45 points left over I can throw a stormshield or 2 in there and still have points left then could break the libby off once the rest of the army shows up

You should not be getting a six between every two dice on average, BTW.

I have a question.

You have the banner of devastation, it gives the bolter bonus to all units within 6 inches.

Would it not be better to have fewer units maxed out than many smaller units? (If they need to be within range of the banner).

I made them 7 man units for target saturation that way Im not dumping 40 bolter shots into a 5 man unit...talk about overkill

Anyway im literrly thinking about dumping this and just starting over with a DA/IG gunline.

This was my interpretation of this kind of list. I haven't trialed yet but I expect it would do well with or without the dreadnoughts (if you were to replace them I'd take Tri Las Predators)

You've got *some* AA, cover for your infantry, and a huge distraction that if your opponent ignores will wreck parts of his army. The squad is also adept at dealing with MC's as there's five hammernators and Belial before SB/PF attacks. Dreadnoughts work as melee defense for your tactical squad fortress and further tackle MC's if your Termites struggle, which they will if you face flying circus/nidzilla lists.

Should be just under 1850

Combat Squad all those tactical squads, keep a few in the back field and roll up the field and drop pie plates. Plenty of AA to deal with hell turkeys and the likes. And you've enough armor that you shouldnt have to worry too much about them anyhow.
