Dark Mechanicus and Renegade Iron Hand Dakka Blog
My Dark Mechanicus P&M Blog. Mostly Modeling as I paint very slowly. Lots of kitbashed conversions of marines and a few guard to make up a renegade Iron Hand chapter and Dark Mechanicus Allies. Bionics++
Hey, that is complete unfair to the poor sumo guys. You shouldn't compare them to such an obviously stupid and inefficient method of fighting.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
Well they are space marines inside space marines....

Zweischneid wrote:No way man. A Space Marine in itself is scary. But a Marine WITHOUT helmet wears at least 3-times as much plot-armour as a Marine with helmet. And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.
Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

No offence but you have little sense of humour...I found this thread rather funny!

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

Why? I find the centurion suit a decently useful way for a marine to fight.

Thats where we differ . The Dev one would be practical as a fire support walker IMO but the assualt one... No way. Way too bulky. The legs look like the have almost no range of movement and with their power armor visible behind I feel that almost anything would be able to out manover them and hit them in the power armor at the back. Even fighting them head on I feel the arms would have blind spots and areas that couldn't be easily defended but at least there is TEQ armor in the front. To me it seems the suits (not the weapons) should confer unwieldy.
On a side note, I'm just curious how the arms would work in there?
My thought is that they the marine's arms would be crossed on his chest and "locked" by his power armor. Then, it could re-route the relevant neural impulses into the Centurion suit's arms.
I figure this shouldn't be much of a problem since the marine has connection points cut into the black carapace that directly interconnects with his central nervous system. I figure this is also how power fists probably work as well.
Just a thought, cause otherwise I see no way for these things to work
Why don't we just encase them in a slab of metal, just a solid block, and mount a gun on the top. Then we can have the rest of the squad wheel them forward on a trolley.
