Old thread

Seeing as the old thread was locked I thought I'd start a new thread to keep all the HH and 40K Forge World news together. I'll try to update the first post and title often.

The Fire Raptor Gunship is a specialised variant of the Storm Eagle known to have its origins in the Imperium’s dim and distant past. The vehicle is configured to maximise ammunition stowage in order to feed the voracious appetite of its numerous weapons and this is achieved by sacrificing the Storm Eagle’s transport capacity.

The secrets of the Fire Raptor's construction were lost sometime after the Horus Heresy but Fire Raptors are now being fielded in increasing numbers across the countless war zones of the 41st Millennium, suggesting that an as-yet unidentified Adeptus Mechanicus Forge World or Adeptus Astartes Chapter Forge has come into possession of a complete STC imprint.

The Fire Raptor Gunship , designed by Stuart Williamson, is a complete resin and plastic kit armed with twin-linked avenger bolt cannon, wing-mounted hellstrike missiles and two ball turrets sporting either quad heavy bolters or twin-linked autocannon. This kit is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Thursday 31st October. Experimental rules for this model can be found here.

Games Day UK 2013 .Now with pictures (Loads of images on page 16 onwards.)
Spoiler:

2nd August- Continuing the success of the Horus Heresy and Space Marines ranges, Forge World's Phil Stutcinskas will be showing off the new Heresy-era Space Marine tanks he's been working on, and you will also get to see a brand new Space Marine flyer sculpted by Stuart Williamson!

9th august- Over in Forge World, Darren Parrwood has joined the Tau's Third Sphere of Expansion and has been seen working on a new Tau kit. The Greater Good has never looked so good! Meanwhile, Forge World's scenery extraordinaire, Blake Spence, has been hard at work on more new magnificently detailed scenery tiles to help really enhance your battlefields.

You will be able to meet both Darren and Blake at this year's Games Day and talk to them at length about these and some of the other projects they have worked on.

16th August- The Horus Heresy rages ever-onwards over at Forge World and, hot on the heels of the Primarchs Angron and Fulgrim, Simon Egan will be unveiling the third in this series of mighty warriors of legend at UK Games Day 2013! Simon wouldn't be drawn on the details, so you'll just have to go to Games Day to see it in person (and possibly even add one to your collection!).
Elsewhere in Forge World's design team, Keith Robertson has been working hard on a brand new unit of Death Guard which you will be able to see for the very first time at Games Day.

22nd August- This week we can confirm that Forge World writers, Neil Wylie, Andy Hoare, Alan Bligh and editor Talima Fox will all be making their way to the NIA in September to talk about the range of Imperial Armour and Warhammer Forge books, as well as The Horus Heresy. In the coming weeks, Forge World will have an exciting announcement, and Games Day will be the very first place that you will have the opportunity to talk with the writers about it!

30th August- This week Forge World have announced that Alfonso Giraldes will be showing off a fantastic new unit of World Eaters, while Stephen Whitehead has been working hard on a superbly detailed set of Heresy-era Night Lords.

6th September- The HH Massacre, EC Phoenix Terminators, IH Contemptor and IH Shoulder Pads will be available in ''limited numbers''
Not confirmed news but looks like the badges they give out will have the legion symbols from the new HH book.

20th September- Erebus, Kor Phaeron and Ferrus Manus available at GD.

Taking inspiration and title from the legendary bird of ancient Terran myth, the Phoenix Guard of the Emperor’s Children formed
an elite cadre within the Legion, serving primarily as the Primarch Fulgrim’s personal retinue. On the field of battle, the Phoenix
Guard were storied as providing an impenetrable ring of courage and steel, barring the approach of any enemy who dared challenge
their Primarch. They fought in many spheres of battle, from lightning-swift assault forces to veteran tactical units, but it was their
Terminators who were most feared, their martial skill all but unmatched across the Legions.

The Emperor’s Children Legion Phoenix Terminators, designed by Keith Robertson, contains five multi-part resin models. Each Terminator is resplendent with fine details and the iconography of the Emperor’s Children Legion. This set is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. We will have limited stock of these models at Games Day UK.

"We are the Phoenix Guard. We are precision; we are golden; we are loyalty. We are perfection incarnate, in form, intent and deed. We are all to which a true son of Fulgrim must aspire."

As is perhaps unsurprising from so calculating and methodical a master as Ferrus Manus, the Iron Hands Legion is a highly structured military force, with numerous tactical and strategic divisions of power and organisation within its ranks. The Iron Hands are known to maintain a particularly extensive and sophisticated arsenal of war engines — particularly tanks, armoured vehicles and Dreadnoughts — the equal of any Legion save perhaps for Perturabo’s IVth.

Designed by Israel Gonzalez and Will Hayes, the Iron Hands Contemptor Dreadnought is packed with details themed specifically to this Legion and their close ties to the Mechanicum. The Iron Hands Mk III Shoulder Pads, designed by Steve Whitehead, are a set of 10 resin shoulder pads for our Mk III Iron Armour sets. These kits are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 30th September. We will have limited stock of these models at Games Day UK.

"Let your will be as fierce as the heart of the furnace, and your armour as cold and unyielding as steel."

To celebrate the launch of the new Codex: Space Marines, we have put together a series of bundles themed to specific Space Marine Chapters: Ultramarines, Iron Hands, Imperial Fists, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Red Scorpions, Astral Claws, Space Wolves, Salamanders, Raven Guard and the Minotaurs.

If there is a hierarchy of treachery, then the Word Bearers sit in its highest circle. Once the most devoted and rigorous of warriors, it was not enough that they fell, but they pulled their brother Legions into the abyss with them.

For this fallen Legion, we have created sets of Mk II, Mk III and Mk IV Shoulder Pads as well as door sets for the Land Raider, Mk IIB Land Raider and the Rhino. Designed by Steve Whitehead, these resin accessories are ideal for adding Word Bearers iconography to your infantry and tanks. These sets are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. A limited quantity of these kits will be available at Games Day UK, however we are unable to accept reservations for these items.

Even when the Night Lords were counted loyal, their nature and actions were ever questioned. Some argued that they were simply a function of necessity, the monsters needed to drag a barbaric age into the light. Some say that they were a mistake, a misjudgment compounded by circumstance. A few wonder if they were damned from the moment they were born, that they were destined never to be a part of the future they would help create. All such speculation is ultimately pointless; no matter the cause, they are creatures of horror and always were.

For this monstrous Legion, we have created sets of Mk II and Mk IV Shoulder Pads as well as Night Lords Legion Land Raider Doors. Designed by Steve Whitehead, these resin accessories are ideal for adding Night Lords iconography to your infantry and tanks. These sets are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September. A limited quantity of these kits will be available at Games Day UK, however we are unable to accept reservations for these items.

The Word Bearers and the Night Lords Legions will be featured in our forthcoming The Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre. Further details can be found in the Forge World Visual Feed. In our latest video, writer Alan Bligh discusses what you can look forward to in the new book.

New legion armour sets.
Jet bikes.
Fellblade.
Two contemptors.
And I think some RoB tiles.

It should also be noted that Perturabo might also be armed with Forgebreaker considering Fulgrim gave it to him after Ferrus's death.

There'll probably be two Perturabo, the first one will probably not have Forgebreaker as he'll be based on what he was like at Istvaan v.

Forgot to upload the old Newsletter so here goes.

The Primarch of the Iron Hands Legion was a figure of legend amongst the peoples of his home world of Medusa, named by them ‘the Gorgon’ after the most ancient of mythic creatures. Ferrus was amongst the strongest of the Primarchs, reflected in this giant figure, dwarfing many of his brother Primarchs.

Forge World will be attending UK Games Day, held on Sunday 29th September at the NIA in Birmingham, and Ferrus Manus, the latest model in our Horus Heresy Character series, will be available to purchase on the day. As part of our Games Day UK previews, we have a feature on the Forge World Visual Feed about the Primarch of the Iron Hands Legion. In our latest video, designer Simon Egan talks about how he created the model of the Gorgon and how it can be incorporated with Fulgrim to form a stunning diorama.

You can also watch Edgar Skomorowski talking about Erebus and Kor Phaeron, our trailer for The Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre as well as a video of writer Alan Bligh talking about what you can expect to find in this forthcoming book here.

The gangs of Cthonia, from which the Sons of Horus recruited many of its warriors, had a profound influence not only on the Legion’s character but also its appearance. In battle its wargear would often be adorned with spikes, Cthonian glyphs and additional armour plates, leaving those it unleashed war upon in no doubt of its savage ferocity.

Designed by Alfonso Giraldes, the Sons of Horus Legion Mk IV Head, Body and Shoulder Pad Upgrades are a great way to theme and customise your Sons of Horus power armoured infantry. These models are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September.

The warriors of the Legiones Astartes are the Imperium’s elite, and their officers are commonly equipped with the finest wargear imaginable. In the 41st Millennium, the Armouriums of the great Space Marine Chapters contain many war-relics, ancient weapons with histories as noble and storied as the battle-brothers that have borne them into combat.
The Mk II and Mk III power weapon sets, designed by Will Hayes contain a huge variety of weapons and equipment. The kits comprise of ten melta-bombs, five pairs of arms, three Phobos-pattern bolt pistols, three power fists, two lightning claws, two power axes, two power swords, two power gladius, one sheathed gladius, two chainswords, two hand-flamers, two plasma pistols, two Volkite Serpentas, a thunder hammer, a power maul and a heavy chainsword. This cornucopia of wargear is perfect for use with our range of resin Space Marine Infantry, and is also fully compatible with Games Workshop’s plastic kits. These models are available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Monday 30th September.

When the situation calls for a prolonged deployment, Space Marines can rapidly construct modular fortified structures, known as Castellum Strongholds, to use as forward operating bases on a planet’s surface.

Designed by Blake Spence, the Realm of Battle Space Marine Castellum Stronghold is a 24" x 24" (609 mm x 609 mm) tile which can fit the Citadel Realm of Battle board. The model features areas that can accommodate Tarantula Sentry turrets, and its design allows several boards to be put together, expanding the size of the base. The Castellum Stronghold will be available as a pre-release at Games Day UK in limited quantities.

Word of Horus’ treachery has escaped Isstvan III and now the Legions loyal to the Emperor mobilise to make Horus, and those who follow him, account for their crimes. However, the depth of the betrayal is yet to be fully revealed.

Illustrated in full colour, The Horus Heresy Book Two - Massacre contains extensive background information on the dark deeds unleashed by the Traitor Legions upon their Loyalist brothers at the titanic battle of the Isstvan V Dropsite Massacre. Also within this book are detailed the histories of four new Legions which took part: the Iron Hands, Salamanders, Night Lords and Word Bearers, and an extensive campaign system so you can play out their battles on the tabletop. This 290 page book also includes additional entries for the Space Marine Legion Crusade Army list presented in The Horus Heresy Book One – Betrayal, as well as game rules for the Primarchs of the four newly described Legions, super-heavy vehicles and special characters featured in the story. Click here to see a trailer for Book One.

Lavishly decorated, this book is leather bound with inlaid metal detailing and foil-blocked page edging, and also features metal cleats to the corners of the book's casing impressed with the Imperial Aquila. This book is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 18th October. More news on The Horus Heresy Book Two – Massacre can be found in the Forge World Visual Feed, where writer Alan Bligh discusses what you can look forward to in the new tome. You can view a trailer for the book here.
You will require a copy of The Horus Heresy Book One – Betrayal and the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook to use the contents of this book.

Erebus was once the High Chaplain of the Word Bearers and venerated the Emperor as a divine being. When the Emperor chastised the Word Bearers for worshipping him, Erebus’ drive for spiritual knowledge led him into the welcoming arms of the Ruinous Powers and through their guidance he planned the downfall of the Emperor and all he had wrought.
Along with Erebus, Kor Phaeron has the ear of his Primarch and, more than any other individual, is responsible for Lorgar’s nature as a seeker after the truth, wherever that may lie and whatever terrible secrets it might reveal.

The latest additions to our Horus Heresy Character Series, Erebus and Kor Phaeron , designed by Edgar Skomorowski, are two multi-part resin kits with two scenic bases that can be combined into a single scenic diorama. Each individual is resplendant with fine details, from the runic script carved upon Erebus' head to the intricate lightning claws of Kor Phaeron's armour. This set is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 18th October. To see a video of Edgar talking about how he designed these infamous characters, click here.

Sorry for the delay in getting these up but I've been having internet and email problems over the past week.

A development of the Riptide battlesuit, the Tau XV107 R’varna battlesuit sacrifices mobility for heavier armour and increased firepower in the form of two pulse submunitions cannon, experimental weapons systems which fire micro-cluster projectiles capable of saturating the target area in a deadly storm of plasma pulses.

The stoic Earth caste of Ke'lshan was almost forced to abandon its plans for developing the R'varna battlesuit due to the monumental cost of these new war engines. Instead Fio'O Ke'lshan Sho'Aun turned to the Ethereal Council's demands for improved stealth and infiltration units, appropriating resources intended for this project to create the initial prototype units under the guise of creating a new Stealth suit. Renewed Tyranid attacks against the beleaguered sept world of Ke'lshan were to reveal O'Sho'aun's deception to the Council, as the trio of prototype units held back the savage host of organic nightmares that threatened to engulf the Sept's primary city.

The XV107 R'varna battlesuit, designed by Daren Parrwood, is a complete multi-part resin and plastic kit. This model is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Thursday 31st October.

The Fire caste of Ke’lshan has mastered the use of the XV9, and within this cadre of solemn and determined warriors Shas’o R’alai is a paragon amongst veterans; his skills having been rewarded with the most advanced weapons and equipment produced by the Earth caste.

The Shas'o R'alai Command Echelon Cadre is a new bundle set that includes Tau Battlesuit Commander Shas’o R’alai, an XV9 with Twin-linked Burst Cannon, an XV9 with Phased Ion Cannon and an XV9 with Fusion Cascade.

Other bundle deals are available to proponents of the Greater Good in the form of the Tau Titan Killer Cadre and the Tau Air Defense Cadre. All of these bundle deals are available now for immediate despatch.

The atomic war-ravaged world of Krieg once defied the rule of Terra, sliding into heresy and sedition in the first half of M40. Across the entire planet, only one hive city remained loyal to the Emperor, its defenders unleashing terrible and forbidden weapons in a desperate attempt to defeat their foes. Where once Krieg supplied the Imperium with munitions and arms, manpower has now become its tithe; regiments of Death Korps who willingly march into the very worst environments and deploy into the most forlorn attacks, forever seeking to atone for their forebears’ treachery with their own flesh, blood and bone.

We have several new bundle deals which are an ideal way to start your Death Korps of Krieg army. All of these bundle deals are available now for immediate despatch.

The Primarch of the Iron Hands Legion, Ferrus Manus, was a figure of legend amongst the peoples of his home world of Medusa, named by them ‘the Gorgon’ after the most ancient of mythic creatures. Ferrus was amongst the strongest of the Primarchs, dwarfing many of them in both strength and stature.

He was blessed of a physiology remarkable even amongst the Primarchs. His arms were sheathed in liquid metal, the result, so the legends of Medusa claim, of a battle fought against the mightiest of beasts on that world before he was re-united with the Emperor. His armour is as heavy and impenetrable as that of a super-heavy tank, yet he keeps both arms uncovered so that he might bring their full might to bear.

Ferrus Manus, designed by Simon Egan, is an amazingly detailed multi-part resin model armed with Forgebreaker and equipped with the Medusan Carapace. The latest edition to our Horus Heresy Character Series, Ferrus stands atop a scenic base depicting the carnage on Isstvan V. Available to pre-order now, this model will be despatched from Friday 8th November.

Rules and background for the Primarch Ferrus Manus and his Legion can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Two: Massacre. You can find out how Simon Egan approached this iconic project here. The base of Ferrus Manus can also be combined with Fulgrim’s to create a diorama of the two Primarchs duelling.

"Rest? We were not made to rest; we go on, unflinching, unstoppable, unending in our strength. The Emperor did not make us for such mortal concerns as hearth and home, vanity or contemplation; we are his engines of war, his hammers, beating out the fabric of existence into a vessel fit for Mankind to inhabit."

Ferrus Manus, as quoted in ‘Shadow of the Gorgon’ by the remembrancer Czel Atternus

Renowned for their pride, cold-hearted brutality and remorselessness in battle, the Iron Hands were among the most powerful and famed Space Marine Legions of the Great Crusade. They were the hammer that had shattered countless foes in the Emperor’s quest to liberate Mankind from the darkness of Old Night.

Since the dark times of the Horus Heresy, in honour of their Primarch Ferrus Manus, the Iron Hands ritually replace their right hands with a mechanical augmentation; to them flesh has become symbolic of weakness and weakness is something that they will not tolerate.

Designed by Israel Gonzalez, the Iron Hands Legion Mk III Squad is a five-man multi-part kit fitted out in Mk III Iron Armour that features many details such as cybernetic limbs, a nuncio-vox and an auspex. This kit is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Friday 8th November. If you would like to further customise your Iron Hands force, there is also a Chapter Upgrade bundle available as well as an Iron Hands Legion section on our website.

"The dimension of mercy is above the warrior’s thoughts and has no place in them; only cruel necessity and the solaces of victory constitute the warrior’s philosophy, whole and entire."

Ruth’vann Magnar, Warlord of Albia, M.29

The Deimos pattern is an early type of Vindicator used by the Space Marine Legions during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, although many are still operational in the service of Space Marine Chapters in the 41st Millennium. A powerful assault tank, the Vindicator's principal armament is a heavy-calibre demolisher cannon capable of shattering fortifications and breaching the armour plates of tanks with equal ease. It is invaluable in urban warfare as it can blast and shunt its way through barricades and obstacles, enabling troops following behind free passage through streets that might have otherwise swiftly degenerated into kill zones.

The Legion Deimos Pattern Vindicator, designed by Phil Stutcinskas, is a complete resin and plastic kit, and is available to buy now. Rules for the Legion Vindicator can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One – Betrayal.

"Victory is won by the precise application of superior force at the point of maximum vulnerability."

Perturabo, Primarch of the Iron Warriors

We have now added Legion Upgrade Bundles for the Death Guard, Emperor’s Children, Iron Hands, Night Lords, Sons of Horus, Word Bearers and World Eater Legions to our Horus Heresy range. Featuring etched brass, decal sheets, vehicle doors and shoulder pads, these bundles are a great way to customise your Legion force.

A variant of the Sicaran battle tank introduced towards the end of the Great Crusade, the Sicaran Venator is a purpose-built tank destroyer. It mounts the fearsome neutron laser system and the atomantic arc-reactors required to power it. The neutron laser is a formidable anti-armour weapon, and is capable of matching certain super-heavy class vehicles in firepower.

The Sicaran Venator, designed by Phil Stutcinskas, is a complete resin kit that comes with a choice of lascannon or heavy bolter sponsons, as well as a remote turret-mounted heavy bolter. This model is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Saturday 30th November.

Loving Typhon probably pick him up as a Nurgle Chaos Lord. DG and IH seem to get a lot of attention though, would love to see some more models for the other legions.

The jigsaw is a Red Butcher, most likely the one on the far right of the picture.

Are there any closer up views of individual models of these guys? I vaguely remember seeing some pics a while back...

Page 19 has some really good close ups. Hopefully these guys will be out soon as everything else that was that far along at GD has been released.

It's a nice model but it just doesn't really fit in with the rest od the range. The basilisk on the other hand is a great wee kit my IF will defiantly be getting one.
