Hi Dakka,

I'm planning on starting a SW army and trying to work out what to buy - the list will be wolf heavy and have characters, including an iron priest, on a thunderwolf. I'd really appreciate it if anyone can provide tips on the below.

I have a basic level of modelling skill and only deal with finecast if I really can't help it.

1) In the SW battleforce, can I make 20 GH or are the sprues only set up for 10? If they are only set up for 10, are there enough spare bits from a standard GH box to make up the difference? I assume it's mostly heads/weapons that are the problem?

2) Cyberwolves. Are these roughly the same size as normal fenrisian wolves? Anyone have any tips for kitbashing these (or a source for alternate ones?)

3) The Iron Priest - I was thinking about getting a Techmarine with servitors box and then using those bits to make up the Iron Priest on TWC. Will that work? Any better ideas welcome.

Thanks everyone!

1)From memory the Space Wolf Battleforces give you two full Wolf Pack kits, so that you can make 20 individual space wolves, as well as the 5 scouts and a drop pod.

You will have more than enough arms and weapons etc from those kits.

2) They are any size that you want them to be, they are just normal fenrisian wolves that have been teched up a bit, cybernetic eyes or legs or something like that.

3) I'd probably just buy the straight Techmarine with Servo harness, unless you want the servitors for some particular reason it would just save you cash.

Alternatively you could see if someone has a servo harness sitting around that you could buy. Then combine the mechanicum shoulder pad from the space marine vehicle sprue with the model from the TWC kit and you have an Iron Priest.
