I absolutely hate the look of these models and wondered what people thought would be the rest replacement for them to make their appearance palatable should I use them?

thanks

Forgeworld has some cool robots that could be converted. Not quite sure how they measure up scale wise yet though.

The dreadnought idea really isn't awful either, though they may be a little too tall.

Get an IG Sentinel.
Stick a marine in it (Use only the roll cage).
Add dreadnaught arms OR just tack-on the appropriate weapons
I would supplement with extra dreadnaught bits to make it more marine looking.
AH! Found this:

OR

Bit big though.

OR

Carve out a dreadnaught and make a cockpit in it.

OR

Buy FW Castellan class robot, carve out the round head piece, add "roll cage" and fancy marine head inside.

Figure out who makes this:

I'm not a fan either. Though I think with better posing and a better camera, it would look better. But as a few people have said on that thread, the whole concept of the model is just bad.

I personally am not horrified by the models (and the concept of the unit) as many others are. The devastator versions are decent enough, not $75 USD decent, but decent in and of themselves. Its the assault versions that look a hot mess. Had GW leaked the devastator pics first, the uproar wouldn't have been near as bad.

I'm curious as to how pose-able the models are, as that seems to be my biggest dislike. The pics all had very static poses that were a bit lackluster. As for the rules, I really have a hard time understanding how two weapons on separate ARMS are twin-linked, but that's just GW's silly obsession with making all Imperial weapons twin-linked if there are two of them.

Pretty much any mech-like but still human-looking model would work. You could just get the random grunt Space Marine and slap extra stuff on him too (elevate slightly with bigger feet, add stuff to the arms and legs, beef up the chest) since thats what the Centurion is after all lol

Or, don't do that, and use the model as is, lol. Those Castellax robots are too pretty to try to shoehorn them into the fluff. Just give them a twin-linked weapon, and call it a day. You only need to "Counts As" the rules, not the fluff. Make them Counts As Centurians, and then call them Admech allies or something.

I'm mostly annoyed by the "metal loin cloths" and the feet, but with a bit of conversion they could look half decent I'm sure. Hopefully Wolves won't have to take them.

I have a feeling they will look a lot better once we see one assembled without the loin-plate.

I was also considering the thallax, but was unsure if they were big enough. If they are on the rumoured new 50 mm bases, it will be almost impossible to find bases for proxies too.

Grab a few mechwarriors Dark Age minis or later expansions and you got yourself the great basis for them.

There are about 200 mechs or so, so you can get some that fit. Also they are cheap as heck since the game really wasnt very popular.

I can't say that i like the centurion models either.

My solution is going to be to go through my bits box, and my best friends bits box, because i just KNOW we have 3 RT dreads between us. i'm fairly certain they can be converted to make quite respectable models
