Quite proud of this squad. Was a lot of fun to paint. The missile launcher is my favourite part. I can't wait to paint the new centurions in this scheme

More pics over on my blog

Really nice squad. Didn't you preview some of these in another post? Glad to see the ten man squad together.

The Missile Launcher is a particular highlight for me.

But where are the goblin green bases? (Tongue in cheek).

These remind me of when i first started taking an interest in the hobby, great stuff.

@LilLoser - i laughed at the green goblin comment, also got to have the mandatory green flock basing!

Damn its those guys slapped in a white dwarf many moons ago that got me hooked! They look like they just stepped out of 1992 (in a good way)

Ahh the old school 40k Space Marines. How fondly I remember my 2nd Ed Blood Angels firing a Krak missile at my brother's ork dreadnought (back in the day of cardboard cutouts...) and blowing its legs off. Which was then followed by it toppling over backward and squashing his warboss..

Great paint job by the way

Nice punch-in-the-face of nostalgia! That Missile Launcher is amazing, but agree with LL that they deserve goblin green base rims. Also loving the freehand knee pad campaign markings and what not.

Pretty cool.

A Heretic may see the truth and seek redemption. He may be forgiven his past and will be absolved in death. A Traitor can never be forgiven. A Traitor will never find peace in this world or the next. Awesome work man!!! The rocket launcher is awseome! The flames, the yellow flamer and the light blue, brings me back to being a kid hanging out at local hobby store. Just awesome work!!

Uderly love these guys. They looks so crispy clean, and so candy-coated. Reminds me of my fist forays into 2nd edition, when the grim dark future, was pretty brightly colored actually. Great job, love the free hand work.

I remember seeing your preview for these. Loving the fully squad and can't wait to see how a new sculpt will deal with an old school paint job!

1. Go to FLGS on a 40K game night.
2. Announce to no one in particular "I have over 10,000 points of Space Marines".
3. Sit back and watch as some 30-ish Neckbeard who still lives with his parents not only disputes your claim, but goes on to describe his 30,000 points of Blood Angels and how he has been playing since Rogue Trader days... And yet you will have never seen him either play 40K or that army.
4. From here, you have several options. Continue the conversation, or just end it. Either way, I guarantee you will waste 1+ hour of your life talking to this guy. Have fun!

Well have to say those look fantastic! As good as the 'eavy metal ones I can remember, although I do remember really disliking those minis when they came out, and thinking how much better the more varied metal ones were!

Very jealous... Especially the missile launcher. I have quite a few of these vintage models and I want to do the missile launcher in the same way!
