Does anyone play this? I'm particularly interested in the Toy Box mode where you can create your own games.

We went on vacation with my wife's sister's family and my bro-in-law had picked it up so we played it a bunch and unlocked all the stuff for the Toy Box mode. He thinks I should be able to make some fun games out of it, but I was wondering if anyone knew of good resources for learning how to use the more complex features and some best practices.

Sadly not yet. I picked it up for my boys as we are all generally big Disney fans, but they've only been doing the odd level mixed with messing about and leveling characters.

I've played it a few times mind, and its quite a good game, as more is added it will be quite an interesting game to have I'm reckoning.

After some searching I found some Toy Box how to videos made by someone on the Disney Infinity team. Some good stuff here:

I am excited for the toy story stuff coming out in October and in December we have Wreck-it Ralph.

Will be crazy when they add star wars and marvel.

Woody is on sale at Walmart now, Jack Skellington is available tomorrow at Game Stop

I would actually love to get this, because unlike Skylanders these are established characters and I like a lot of them! I love Pixar movies and a lot of the other disney stuff it's just that I have a little brother who I don't want anywhere near my stuff and he would go crazy if he played this game.

I picked up Woody yesterday, he's pretty cool to play, excited for the Toy Story stuff later this month.


I am picking up Jack Skellington tomorrow.

This game is great regardless of what age you are, i've been playing the crap out of toybox mode.

The only guy I'd play is captain Barbosa, and I'd make a netherworld to rule over. None of you are invited.

Was at my nephew's bday this weekend and the kids were all playing it. I kept staring longingly at the screen wishing I could play too. Looked like lots of fun, I might have to get it for my PS3.

But, is there gonna be a PS4 version? Planning to get one, so I don't wanna start on a PS3 and then have to re-unlock stuff all over again... so if that's the case I might just wait...

I've seen rumors of the PS4 and Xbox One version will be Disney Infinity 2 when it is released next gen.

All works, characters and unlocks will be forward and backwards compatible to Disney Infinity 2


It's not officially confirmed that it will or won't be on the ps4 or xbox one

I know it's not Infinity, but has anyone tried that Skylanders game? It looked pretty cool, but I'm not sure if my girlfriend and I enjoy it over the long run.

Skylanders is OK, the only similarity is that you use figures. Disney Inifinity is less of a hack and slash and has more to it when you include the toybox mode which is the big point of the game. It's like Minecraft Disney Style.

Skylanders is not too bad, its has a more kiddy feel than Infinity if that makes sense, but I played it quite far into the game on the first one. Never got much into the second mind, maybe that is a sign of a limited appeal, but both my lads loved both, and want the new one as well.

Infinity is amazing, played all worlds now, and it really feels like a different game. I mean the main negative associated with the game is the cost of the addon packs, figures.. but hey I'm a wargamer, this is cheap to me.

I would seriously recommend Infinity though, the toybox mode is amazing and I'm only just scratching the surface. As this game advances and more stuff comes out especially if we do get Marvel, Star Wars down the line, its going to be huge.

One other thing I'd note Infinity has going for it over Skylanders, all our Inifinty figs sit onto of the TV cabinet on display in the main living room when not is use.. can't say the same for the Skylander ones.

The Toy story playset has been released and I must say is my favorite so far.

Agreed, the story is fun, jetpack is amazing and the voice cast is stellar, seems the only two not voiced by the correct actors are Woody and Buzz. A shame but Tom's brother voices Woody and the same guy who's been standing in for Allen on most other media is at it again and he's pretty much got the voice down.

Would recommend any Infinity fans to pick it up.
