Subject: Count The Seven -- A Pre Heresy Death Guard P&M.
A P&M This time for Pre Heresy Death Guard. This is my brother's army, he doesn't get much time to paint and I have all the time in the world to paint! This will be 7th Battle Company, and Yes there will be a stand in for Garro until GW sees fit to release him! The army is growing bigger as it sits on my shelf waiting for paint, so I won't go into details on it all quite yet, but here is the first model! Let me know what you think.
Bases were chosen by my brother, Secret Weapon "Urban Infestation" I believe, nice bases, somewhat fun to paint!

First marine is complete, did this one as a single to test out how everything worked. Starting on a few more.

Thanks guys! I am just happy that my brother likes them so far! I am having a lot of fun with this paint scheme because it doesn't need to be neat and tidy like most of the stuff I paint. More to come in the next few weeks as I get more time to work on them.

Haha I think that was my brother's point in modelling him actually! He tried to get a good varation on their posing and I think with the "custom" magazine change guys that he accomplished that.

Wow, not much response to the Death Shrouds! well here is the stand in for Garro.

The gold on the Praetor contrats strangely i think. Not that it's bad, it just looks a bit off. Maybe because there is a lot of it compared to the rest of the army. Still solid paint jobs all round.
The death shroud guys are great , I just ordered one of their legs off eBay for the crossed scythes to do a mold of it, I am building Scythes of the Emperor, and hoping it will fit shoulder pads. Can you tell me if I wasted my money? Also are their any other crossed scythes on the death shroud guys I could copy?

The leg symbol MIGHT be a little too big, and I haven't seen any other Scythe stuff on these guys, there are plenty on the transfer sheet for Deathguard, but you may also want to look into printing your own transfers, I know you can get the files from Bolter and Chainsword or Bell of Lost Souls most of the time.

Thanks brokk. I have ordered some of the transfers that bols created, someone see is printing them for me. I'll use the leg for my captain, might use the symbol on a couple vehicles.

It's been a little bit! had to take a break but I am back at it, this is the first of a 10 man squad of Destroyer marines, I liked the idea that presented in the FWHH books that because Destroyers are well known for using Chem Munitions, that the Chemicals actually eat the paint off their armor. This is my take on it! Hope you enjoy,

Destoyers are off to a good start. The radioactive green thrusters and grenades look suit the model quite nicely and the weathering is a great touch, especially considering their vocation. I love his pose as well. It looks like he's just been shot in the shoulder and is reacting to the shot.
My base white is actually a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Game Color Dead White and Vallejo Game Color Bone White, the green is just good old GW Castellan Green, Metals are Vallejo Game Color Bronze.

It's based with old GW Snot Green, then a coat of Scorpion Green and then little by little adding Flash Gitz Yellow until I'm happy with the look haha.
