So I had an idea to play a MOTF and bunch of Servitors in a Land Raider Redeemer. My thinking is as follows:
- auto repair one damage result per turn for a seriously robust tank
- could even put another Tech Marine in there to repair 2 results per turn
- Slay the Warlord denial tactic
- They might not be too shabby in combat if it came to that (though not as good as before when the Servo arms gave an extra attack)
- I play against a lot of Marines so AP3 templates are nice
Does anyone with more experience than me think this would work?

It's expensive (money and pointswise) but works surprisingly well. You just need to defend it to keep it intact. There is still a limit how much firepower that thing can soak up.

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

Of course it makes sense. When there are a bunch of BDSM clowns doing Olympic gymnast routines throughout your unit, while also cutting off heads, you tend to get a bit distracted.

What you are forgetting about your seriously robust tank, is that it is a seriously robust tank that isn't a huge threat to anything. Not enough mech out there to worry about a single MM shot, and that that is out there (Serpents) don't care about it much anyway based on the odds. As for the Cannons, you are only ever going to get to use one of them at a time, either because no opponent will be dumb enough to line up Marines for you on either side of your tank, and/or because in order to get into that incredibly short range you will have to move at Cruising Speed and thus will only be able to fire a single gun at full BS (using PoTMS).
The simple question to ask here is why bother trying to soup up a single Land Raider?

Would make more sense with a LR Achilles.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS. |
