Tell me what the dumbest model you have ever seen was.... maybe a bad assembly, dumb fluff, or really bad planning on behalf of gw.... for me it is definitely the doomrider, and the old sybarites with lion-o head....
The doomrider was just stupid in all aspects..... and the lion-o sybarite was not menacing, or even slightly cool....

So let me know folks, I just want a good laugh. Post pics if you can!

A "Baneblade" a friend "made"

a 1/35th scale Panther tank (which was not a assembled model, more a toy) and he stuck Dreadknight parts at odd angles onto it giving it arms with guns and the big hammer and sword and stuff with "lascannon sponsons" on its rear made from dreadnought bases with termi bases on top of them with a HWT lascannon stuck on top.

The panther was physically far to small to be a Baneblade and it just looked like he covered it in glue and rolled it in bitz.

He gave it to me along with a bunch of other IG stuff (4 LRBTs, a bunch of HWT and a few troops) when I traded a ton of chaos/tau/misc bitz and stuff. I immediately tore off the "attachments" and threw them in my bitz box and set the poor Panther tank aside by sitting in on my book shelf.

I happen to think centurions take away from the dead horse that space marines have become.... if gamesworkshop is gonna keep kicking it, atleast they added some flair!

When I came back to the Hobby, it was Space Wolves riding Thunderwolves. I thought 40k jumped the shark.

It was like "yo dawg, I heard you like some wolves with your space wolves, so I put your space wolves on top of wolves so they can wolfy wolfy space wolves."

Of course, now that time has passed I...no, I can't, it's still dumb to me, seriously I used to love Space Wolves.

Old One Eye. It has barnacles on its crushing claws, a stupidly upright posture, and a really thin build. Looks more like a weird tyranid warrior then a carnifex. And did I mention BARNICLES ON HIS CLAWS! What is he? A lobster? The present Finecast version anyways.

Centurians, Cadians (the whole damn range), Dreadknight, Thunderwolves (Canis especially), unhelmeted space wolf heads with furry manes. Pretty sure that's good enough.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I have no choice but to add a vote to centurions. It's like they were all thrown at a brick wall to get such wide and flat fronts.

I'd vote for the Khornedozer that came out recently, then stormtalons. I like the thunderwolves' look, even though I think the idea of a 1000 lb space marine riding a giant wolf is pretty silly.

Stormtalons. I'm not into the 'hate all the new things!' rage that seems to grip the forums every so often, but I sincerely hate the look of the stormtalons. I'd even like to take one if they weren't so damn hideous. Flying dumpsters. And you know, that silly limited edition Crimson Fist captain for the anniversary event was pretty goofy looking too.

Still the stormraven.

I'd also put a note in for the valkyrie. Let's make one of the coolest units in the imperial guard, and then let's make another one that's identical, except with three twin-linked lascannons so there's no reason to take the valkyrie. Worse, let's make it so that the worst kinds of people will flock to the up-powered ones, ruining everything for everyone.

The centurions are pretty bad.
So is the khornedozer.
The SM flyers are pretty bad, too.

The new superexpando-necron-ball-of-death-thing is about as bad as it gets, though.

The barnacles on the claws are probably due to the fluff about it being dug up in a block of ice on Macragge years after the war, so it was in the water regenerating. Things in the water sometimes have barnacles attach themselves. The pose and stature are due to him being a 3rd edition model - that's what Carnifexes looked like in 3rd edition.

Not that it's not a bad model, but there's at least an explanation for him. I honestly don't know why they re-released the model, as the Carnifex plastic kit makes him perfectly - regeneration head has the exact same plasma scar as Old One Eye, and other than that, the model was just a Carnifex with Crushing Claws and Scything Talons.

In my book, definitely the Khornedozer, although the Centurions are pretty bad too. Maybe the Chaos Zoids before the Centurions.

Previous to this last Space Marine release, I had thought that perhaps the fact I've been less and less enthused about new stuff has been my waning enthusiasm for 40k in general. Then they came out with those new Sternguard and Vanguard, as well as that new Chaplain, and no, I'm pretty sure they just had a run of crap sculpts in relatively short succession in the recent timeframe because some of the new stuff is sweet. In fact, the Centurions have me hoping we're back to where we were 2 years ago, when a new release would have mostly awesome models and one laughably bad one.

Old one-eye may be a rather ugly model, but it looks WAY better than what carnifexes looked like in 2nd edition...
