I don't think the shard is worth it for a squad so small. If you had 8+ bikes I could see fearless being crucial, but at 6 it is a bit weak and very expensive. The combat boost is meh as farseers are not CC monsters.

If you drop the shard, you can almost afford another warlock on a bike. Drop avengers as needed to round out the warlocks.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Maybe I should drop th council all together. I love the models and the idea, but apparently they have no place in competitive play these days. what do you think?

Personally I am not a huge fan of the jetseer council, and they are certainly not as good as they once were, but still good. I don't think you have enough models, and you basically need a venom/something DE nearby with grisly trophies to re roll psychic checks. A good alpa strike will wipe the council off the table.

You could still do a warlock and seer with your jetbikes, and just spend the spare points rounding out your list.

The seer council is ridiculously awesome. you need numbers for it to be most effective, the combined buffs from all the warlocks is amazing and it most definitely deserves a spot in competitive play. If you place your council in the open to be shot on first turn you deserve to lose the game, they can easily hide behind terrain, they can move 48 inches per turn and can come off from reserves and you likely do not require DE allies, some people say it is a must but it really isnt, im not sure if they just really ant to ally in DE or not, but you will do just fine without rerolling psykic tests.

as per sterling, smaller squads dont need shard however if you can fit it, do because the last thing you want is 600 points running off the table.

Reduce DA to 5 per squad

take 2x 3 jetbikes instead of 1x6

remove vypers - exchange with warp spiders

after doing all that if you have spare points add a warlock.
