For the big time tournaments, what are the common rules and point allocation?

Is it 50pts and you get two seperate lists to use? Can you use a different army as your second list?

50pts, two lists, same army, can't use the same Character more than once between the two lists, Prime and Epic versions count as different characters.

Character as in any individual unit, or just Warcaster?

Any unit/model. Like Eiryss2 can only be in one list, but you can have Eiryss1 in the other. Or if you take Cylena and her Nyss Hunters in one list, you can't have them in the other.

Yup.

50 points, 2 lists, same faction, no character duplications(different versions don't count as the same)

Sometime Specialists are allowed, sometimes not. Haven't had a tourny with reinforcements yet.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Oh, and just in case you're very new, the normal tourney rules pack is called Steamroller. Search Steamroller2013 for this years rules pack, and it's updated and changed yearly.

Different scenarios, tournament organization, and a lot of options that organizers can use.

Your average tourney is 50pts, but can be 35, 42 (a european standard), or even 75 (some masters events have been, but it's rare). Options can include a side board of models to swap in to lists (called specialists), timing method (timed turns or "Death Clock"), character locking (no doubling up on the same character) and special restrictions (requiring a tier list for example).

Looking for a club in Brisbane, Australia? Come and enjoy a game and a beer at Pubhammer, our friendly club in a pub at the Junction pub in Annerley (opposite Ace Comics), Sunday nights from 6:30. All brisbanites welcome, don't wait, check out our Club Page on Facebook group for details or to organize a game. We play all sorts of board and war games, so hit us up if you're interested.

Pubhammer is Moving! Starting from the 25th of May we'll be gaming at The Junction pub (AKA The Muddy Farmer), opposite Ace Comics & Games in Annerley! Still Sunday nights from 6:30 in the Function room Come along and play Warmachine, 40k, boardgames or anything else!

Big tournaments?

Usually 50 pts, divide and conquer (1) with Deathclock.
