Hi, I would like some notes on my helbrute. I'm going to do a word bearers army and used this guy to test out my scheme. Let me know what I can improve on and what was okay. Thanks in advance.

Looks good, no complaints on this end!

I suppose as actual feed back you could darken up the horns, the tips are realllly white compared to the rest of the model. But looks great!

I agree with the above posters - this is a very good first effort. You definitely have a knack. The only thing I can see is it looks like maybe your primer went on a little gritty? What kind of primer are you using?

Thanks guys. I used krylon matte white spray paint, maybe too heavily. I also heavily drybrushed the flesh parts because layering scares me. I did some layering on the armor.

I could give you better feedback if I could look at the picture in a correct orientation. You might want to flip it. From here though, it looks passable.

This is impressive for being one of your first models. BTW, i think there is something in the forums that changes the way the image is rotated. Because when i click on it it looks fine.

I agree with StyleXHobby on maybe it's the forums, an awful lot of photos recently are coming out rotated to the left when they get put in posts.

Nice Hellbrute, don't change anything and start painting the rest of your army immediately then post them for us to see. Just make sure the photos are right side up this time!

Thanks guys. I'm also using $1.39 ceramicoat paints as I'm still learning. I could have probably thinned them out more for smoother application. I agree that the face doesn't pop, how can I fix this?

Try to make the face a darker shade than the surrounding tissue. I would also recommend that you drybrush the base with a ligher brown and add some flock/ static grass to give it more detail. A well-done base adds a lot to a model.

Otherwise, that's good work for a newbie keep up the good work!

The limbs look good, but you really need to work on the area around the head, it looks like you used crayons on it there.
