Buttons Should Be Brass, Not Gold!

Kildare, Ireland

This dodgy used car salesman asked me to paint a few things for the PSC display stand (well actually I think after several pints of cider I may have agreed to 'one of everything' stupidly)... So the first thing I thought I would have a go at was one of the Cromwells. Its a lovely kit and I cant wait for this in 1/72. I dont do 15mm, its the heretics scale, so this is all new territory for me!

Anyway, painting 15mm is weird... Too small to be 20mm and too big for 6mm so Im not too sure how to paint it! So I have just been fiddling away at it over the last few days...

First it went green...

Then I attacked it with filters and chipping... a bit too much!

Then I badged it up as one of the Cromwells from 11th ADs Div HQ (well actually I marked it as the postal unit just to cause grief for the little salesman at shows)...

Its looking a bit too battered, so I now know that at this size, full on 20mm weathering might be a little too much. Still a fair bit to do so it will be interesting to see how it ends up.
