Appears that a servo-arm is now a melee weapon that uses a models regular attack profile?

See "Servo Arm" in the Melee section of the book. It's got a weapon profile much like a Power Fist.

No, though I believe you think that since it now has a slightly different weapon profile, that tech marines and such no longer get the additional attacks for having them. This belief is in error...

So what you are saying is it no longer grants a single extra power fist attack on its own?

If it still gets the extra attacks what page is that on? It is not in the new SM codex that I can find but I have it on ipad so that might be the problem.

It does look like there is no longer an extra attack from the arm itself.
And since that's the case, it's very strange that you would want to take a power axe at all, since the servo-arm is also unwieldy but better Str. I suppose you could combine the power axe with the pistol to get +1A....but I'm not sure that's worth 15pts.

Correct, though a servo-harness grants +1 attack (two Specialist weapons), and a Master of the Forge with harness thus gets 3 servo-arm attacks base and 4 on the charge. The change hurts normal Techmarines, who lose their "punch attack" at initiative but gain a servo-arm attack on the charge, while a Master of the Forge is more or less just improved, unless you were running him with an upgraded melee weapon.

Could you please quote the rule that makes this an erroneous belief? The "extra attack" rule was pretty obvious in the last book--but I don't see one here now on the Techmarine page.

Well, they no longer get the single bonus s8 attack at i1 that they used to get.

Now they get X s8 i1 ap1 attacks, with +1 if you buy a harness.

If they charge, they are getting more benefit. If they don't charge, they are slightly worse off than they were.

So its a change of debatable benefit.

Bit of a pain for Guard TechPriests. No option for a harness.

Well for the Ironpriest it is a Buff.

Ironpriest got a Thunderhammer as standard loadout and with the new Servo arm he got 3 Attacks in the first round of combat.(4 if you put him on a Thunderwolve)

Seriously. As one of the few people who actually use tech-priests for repairs and a back-rank assist against deep-striking enemy units, it is a little bit of a hit. Now that the old codex entry has been replaced, I think I can freely post it without GW complaint, as they no longer use the rule. This is the old entry from the 5th edition (current) Imperial Guard Codex:

Servo-arm: Servo-arms are capable of lifting incredible loads or crushing those that get too close.

A servo-arm grants a model an additional close combat attack that strikes at Initiative 1, Strength 8 and ignores armour saves.

This means that a techpriest who is in melee and decides to use his sevo-arm now has 2 fewer power-axe attacks than he had before the update. It also means that his 1 servo-arm attack is at Strength 6 instead of Strength 8. It is a pretty substantial downgrade to what was already a marginally useful and high point-cost unit.

Yeah it's a pain. With these Grav-weapons popping up, having a priest ready to un-immobilise your artillery is more useful than before.
Now he can't really defend the tanks. I've had my priest and his Servitor buddies save a tank from a rampaging dread. Won't happen now, his cost is just too much to consider.
Just when a little-used model gets more useful...

You got 1 Attack basic; +1 for 2 specialweapons; +1 for Charge/Counterattack and +1A for the Thunderwolve

In addition you have S10 with Wolve and T5

2 Attacks basic..
Same number of overall attacks as before, just turning that one servo-arm attack into a regular thunder hammer attack (which is nicer).
