Hey guys is DV the only way to get the cultist with the commissar coat, stubbors, and flamer? Is the 5 man box cost efficient when it comes to amassing several large cultist squads?
Thanks

To the 1st Question, yes, any models in the DV kit are exclusive to DV except the 5 cultists you buy for £6.
Personally I think that if you are looking for boosting a single squad or so, the small pack is good, at just £1.20 GBP per cultist, but if you are going for an entire cultist army, or several larger squads, DV is better value as it also models to convert or sell, a Mini-rulebook to keep or sell, as well as those special weapons and Champions. Even a box of Catachan infantry would be better for cultists on a large scale.

The 5 man box has snap fit models, so I doubt they have options. Otherwise, forty USD gets you 20 cultists. Another option is to look at the 20 man squad boxes in WH Fantasy. If you want to run plague zombies for instance,

Only way to get cultist champions or specialists is either DV or converting them yourself. Is the 5 man box cost efficient when it comes to amassing several large cultist squads? Depends. It is one of the cheapest items GW has in stock right now, but the mixed weapons may hurt your plans a little. What I did was chopping off the arms of all my CCW cultists and replace them for Forgeworld Vraksian militia autogun arms. A single sprue of those gives you enough bits to rearm a good bunch of Cultists, all for a meager 13 pounds (plus shipping). Thanks For nothing!

If it's just about cost then I can't really see a cheaper option than buying up DV cultists from ebay.....
I like different stuff so I mix them up with Catachan, Cadians, Flagellents, etc. So easy to kitbash :-) Can get pricey though.
I bought 4 boxes of DV, and a couple of boxes of the above. I have 70 made and painted so far, will eventually flog a lot of DA on eBay......

I must say I love the DV cultists, though. Maybe a bit too big for a normal human, but good sculpts nevertheless. Hope they find the way to make them into a decent multi-part kit someday.

I use empire militia for my cultists they are pretty cheap for how many you get. (And you don't have to convert any of the weapons to bog standard pistol and ccw)

I made mine out of mixing Empire Flagellant Warband, Cadians and Catachans together with Pig Iron heads. Not the cheapest way but good when you need to build over a hundred and fifty of them.
