Hi guys, i have recently returned to the hobby and this is my first blog.
Hopefully having this blog will help me make progress towards having a fully painted and playable army at some point in the future (ambitious i know).

I have been given a small box of Imperial Guard bits to play around with from a friend, so before i take the plunge and start pulling together a 40k army i have decided to start abit smaller with a Necromunda gang.
My aim is to get my gang painted and looking nice then try to rope a few of my friends into building a couple of gangs so we can start a mini campaign.

I have always been interested in the modelling side of war gaming and have never really got into the actual game due to the fact i always take on far to many projects at once and never actually finish them.

Here is the first proper Blog entry.

I am going to be creating a counts as Delaque Gang out of a mix of Catachan and Cadian bits.
I am not going to go for the standard long coats of the Delaques but instead more like a rogue military squad/gang.

My current gang plan is.

leader
grenade launcher + frags
autogun

Heavy
Heavy stubber autopistol

Heavy
Hunting rifle auto pistol

Ganger
autogun

Ganger
autogun

Ganger
shotgun + manstoppers

Ganger
shotgun + manstoppers

Ganger
Lasgun

Juve
autopistol

Juve
Autopistol

Juve
Autopistol

If i am correct that is a total of 1000 credits.

Here are some pictures of what i have made so far.

Sorry for the bad lighting and Iphone quality.

First is a Ganger with autogun throwing a grenade.

Same but side view of my converted autogun

Next i have a second standard Ganger with an autogun

Here is a lasgun Ganger

And last so far is a Heavy Ganger who has a Hunting Rifle.

Same but from the rear.

All of the models still need a fair bit of green stuff to fill cracks and gaps and add details like straps ect, also on most of the models you will see war gear that you would not normally have until late in a game such as scopes/sights and the hotshot lasgun pack. This will all obviously only be for aesthetic look until i actually get the items in a game.

I am also looking for some decent heads to use on them as i don't like how the Cadians look and the Catachans seem a bit big

These are the first models i have built in over 7 years, hope you guys like them.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Welcome back to the hobby and good choice starting with Necromunda.

Check out the links in this thread, there's plenty of third party bitz makers out there who do cool ranges of alternative heads to the right size...

There are these heads which are pretty much Delaques: http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/junkers-heads-bits.

I recommend Yakromunda.com as a pretty essential resource for playing Necro these days

Hi, those heads are quite nice. I might get some to go with the masks and greenstuff some goggles or nightvision for the leader.
My gang is supposed to be a rebel army squad, so the balaclavas will fit well.

Any comments on my gang list? Looking at delaque skills they look really fun to play.
I like the idea of infiltrating and ambushing.

It's a good gang list. The most important part of playing necromunda (in my opinion) is having models you really like over having a good gang list. I have two gangs I'm working on. One is my Van Saar gang which is at a stand still till I get some more bits. And the other is a Goliath gang that I'm using converted Lizardmen for. And while I like the fluff of the Van Saar, I have found that while playing I enjoy the lizardmen so much more because they are so characterful compared to my Van Saar who are kinda uniform.

Thanks for the feedback, thats exactly why i have gone for a variety of guns. Lasguns spam seems like a good option due to ammo rolls but then im pretty much playing guard.
I have been told that its a good idea to run backup pistols on gangers, but is it needed?
I can cut a juve from the list to fund it but is having more bodys better?

I made my heavy stubber dude, leader and a juve last night , i will post pics soon.

On a side note, getting them masked heads has made me want to convert up some gangers to look like the players from payday the heist.

Update TIME!

Below are pictures of the newest additions to the gang. Currently standing at 7 strong.
I have run out of bits to finish the rest, i need to acquire a couple more sets of the Catachan running legs, Catachan arms and Cadian backpack/belt accessories to bulk out a few of the more naked members.

Crappy pictures again, but you get the idea

Heavy stubber

side

rear

Juve

Converted Bolt pistol to Auto pistol

My gang leader (Heads just for show, and wont be the final)

side

other side

He has a bionic arm for some added character, and because i thought the idea of holding a grenade launcher one handed was a bit much for a normal human but with a bionic arm i don't see why not. Im pleased how the grenade launcher came out as i thought the old handle was a bit weedy and by adding the Boltgun section has bulked it out.
He also has a auto gun to be hung on his back.

That is my progress with the Delaques so far, until i get the rest of the parts i will be working on another project to go with them.

The other project.

A friend of mine came over the other day while i was making these and showed a lot of interest, after telling him about the game and how its played we decided to put together another gang so we could have a few games.
we decided to use orks as Goliaths because i have pretty much all the parts we will need to convert them up, but i will be painting them human skin tone instead of green to make them fit into the hive abit more.

Out current Gang roster is

Leader
2 x Chainsword
Boltpistol

Heavy
Heavy stubber
Autogun

Heavy
Autogun

Ganger
Shotgun + Manstopper

Ganger
Shotgun + Manstopper

Ganger
Sword + AutoPistol

Ganger
Autogun

Ganger
Autogun

Juve
Autopistol
Club

Juve
Autopistol
Club

Juve
Massive Axe

That totals 985 if i am correct

The game plan was to take have the heavy's and autogun gangers as range support for the ccw squad consisting of the leader, sword ganger and the 3 juves. The two shotgun gangers will be running parallel to the ccw team encase they get pinned or need help blasting enemy's behind cover.

Any tips for this plan or gang loadout?

Also i have read online about goliaths being able to take a Ogryn as a gang member but cannot find the rules in the rulebook. I am using NCE if you did not know.

To try and make this gang have a Goliath feel and not just be orks in necromund i have bought 10 of these heads and i think i will be converting most weapons.

Another UPDATE!

Goliath gang started this time.

Here are a few models i have been working on.

All the heads will be the kromlech punk orks, i am going to change all the necks to make them abit more human like and i am going to add lots of jewelry chain and maybe green stuff some jackets.

Gang leader, 2x chainswords, autopistol

front

rear

Juve with massive axe

Juve with autopisto, chain

Ganger with autopistol, sword

as i said non of the heads are going to be final.

on a side note, does anyone have a IG bits box kicking around with some catachan legs, arms and cadian backpacks/ accessories?
I need some to finish my delaques so i can get a game on the way.

Thanks for looking

I think the Hvy Stubber is trying to compensate for something...

Nice work though, the Orky Goliath's look good and your choice for alternate heads are gonna rock
