Will at PSC asked me to do him a Tiger up for his display stand... I think he wanted one built straight out of the box, nice and plain.

Bollocks to that.

Well I couldnt resist having a little fiddle so I have decided to plum for doing one of the Tiger hybrids fielded by Kampfgruppe Fehrmann in March '45, kinda inkeeping with the release of Fall of the Reich too.

I have mainly been using Tiger F13 as my main insipiration for the building, a nice mix of a hull with steel wheels and an early turret. This tank that was lost near Achum was possibly commanded by Feldwebel Bellof.

It has zimmerit on both turret and hull, but the turret zimmerit is very fine so I wont be trying to replicate that in this scale. So, using a PSC 15mm Tiger one, I decided to have a crack at building a reasonable likeness of F13.

The first job, after building was to remove the front mudguards, the outside portion of the rear mudguards and the side skirts. Only the side skirts present any real challenge as these are moulded onto the side hull panels. Next I drilled out the barrel and the rest of the model was fairly as per normal apart from removing the locating stud for the turret bin.

So, first job is the hull zimmerit...

Its oversized and out of scale, but Im hoping it will give the right impression, especially with the turret left clean of zimmerit. I now have to wait for it to dry before tidying it up a little...

That looks great!

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

Sadly no red 'F' decals and as this little fellas prescence has been requested for SELWG I have had to crack on regardless... So basic painting and some weathering done;

Very, very nice. What theatre did the tank with this kind of colour scheme fight in?

This tiger, F13 from KG Fehrmann was knocked out by the British in March 1945 near Achum. So Northwest Europe.

I have a note from the RAF gent, from 1986, who took the pictures in the first post that he remembers it vividly as being finished in overall Panzer Grey with red and white numerals.
