One of the things that got me into 40k like 6 years ago was how damn good and diverse the art was. Post your favorite art pieces into this thread. I'll start. These are a guideline. Keep it to actual art.

For starters. Sorry for the human centricity.

I have a few pieces of art of my character in powered armor..
Spoiler:

The first one's armor design was based strongly off of another piece of artwork.

Also, watching my friend draw one particular piece of Pouncey in Sororitas armor, I became very aware of how complicated the Sororitas shoulder armor design is. It curves in and out in all three dimensions everywhere on it.

Neither is particularly awesome, but I figured I'd squick out the people who hate furries, or hate furries in their 40k. : D

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Sorry, I must've missed the part where you specified canonical art, or high-quality art, or anything other than "your favorite WH40k art."

But I'll leave if you want, even though I wasn't planning on posting anything else.

Hey, if the inquisition can use orangutans with lazers, anything's possible. Including a lizard... thing, with power armour.

Anyways, these always impress me.

Thanks. I really did need that after the unpleasant realization that the other guy's response was probably going to be typical any time I post furry-related 40k background and model photos around here.

I like you. You seem to be a happy user. We have too few of those. Don't let people get you down.

Spoiler:

I swing back and forth with that piece. Some days I love it because of all the awesome, other days I dislike it because of the colour and shading choices.

But it is really BFG art which I think is the best that gets put out in terms of it constantly being good. I am referring to studio work mostly I think, but there is art out there that I have no idea if its fan or studio made and looks just as amazing

That's a great picture. I like me my boobs as much as the next man (well, 9/10ths of them), but it is actually nice to see real women depicted. Every time I see a "I want to make female guardsmen" thread, I'll invariably wind up rolling my eyes. A woman in flak armor isn't going to have a special boobed-out chestpiece. She's going to look like every other faceless human being desperately trying to save her home, piled under big plates of ill-fitting armor and grittily grasping a lasgun to chest.

Another one I'd add to this theme is this one:

... and, not being covered with flak armor, this one even has boobs, but it's the last thing that matters in the picture. Just like it's the last thing that matters to the soldier being depicted. She just wants to survive. And possibly have beans a la campfire for dinner.

and the 1000 yard stare. That stare into nothing on the outside while on the inside you are reliving every terrifying moment of the battle you just survived. Trying not to think about the many friends you just lost.

Also, along somewhat similar lines. This is one of my favorite bits of 40k artwork ever:

Art? Pretty sure I posted art.

Here's some more art. ^^

Spoiler:

And since it's been made clear that some people don't like some types of art, I'll warn people who don't like furry art and/or less-than-stellar art to not view the image in the next spoiler thingy. If you don't like those, then don't click. ^^

Spoiler:

It's a drawing of my Master's character in steampunk Marine armor, colored by me. Personally I was dubious of posting this one, because my coloring job obscured a lot of the detail, but Master said he liked it. ^^

And the rest are neither furry-related nor low-quality. ^_^

Poor taste, and OP should not need to specify that such childish nonsen where not to be posted

Childish nonsense...

We're sitting in front of magic picture boxes showing each other pretty pictures inspired by a game we play with little plastic army men...

And you're gonna sit there and call childish nonsense like it doesn't apply to this very forum's entire existence.

Instead of making random threats why not specify in the OP what you actually are looking for? Something like;

Hey guys, we have plenty of threads cropping up about humorous 40k stuff, why don't we make a thread for the more serious, more grimdark 40k art out there? Lets stick to in universe, more serious art, and see what we have out there!"

Something like that, rather than jumping on everyone who posts their own art/comedic art and threatening them

What is the best way to save a thread? Insult the people who suggest ways to help, or just edit the OP to make things clear for those joining.

Not very sharp are you.
How about stuff along the lines I posted in the OP? Dude that alone is pretty clear if you're not blind.

You mentioned the diversity of the art, and told people to post their favorite pieces.

Just because your favorite pieces of 40k art are one type, doesn't mean everyone's favorite pieces follow those lines. Personally, I don't really play favorites.

Also, I think you need to calm down and relax.
