I am just now able to get into the TT game as I found a store within an hours drive from me. okay, so I have the blood angels codex and the SM codex the ultramarines. and I can't quite decide which army to work on first I like aspects of both. reading fluff won't really help as I enjoy the fluff for both BAs and ultrasmurfs. not going chaos since it seems there are 2 players of chaos already at the place and one spacewolves. I am hesitant to begin painting as I don't want to regret the money and time spent, also depending on which I pick I will probably purchase different models first, or at least some. any tips on deciding or opinions?

New marine dex or the old one? BA are dooing poorly as its a shootier game, melee is hard to get to and likely youll die before you make it. Also, paint has no holdings on what army you play. I could have lime green BA if i want.

Not that it matters because given the amount of interbreeding that went on with that lot I'm pretty sure the Queen is her own Uncle.

the new codex. so much to choose from with so much I like haha. yeah I have heard that but I am worried if I do go shooty I will be out shot by armies like eldar, IG and Tau. Plus I love the HQs in the BA army and some of their models. same goes for the SM but a little less on the HQs marneus is cool but he is no mephy or sanguinor haha

Do both armies. One day you play Blood Angles, next time you play Ultramarines.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Yup, that's what I am doing.
I'm trying out a painting-scheme that allow me to go BA one day and C:SM the next.
The only 'real' difference is some of the BA iconography on models and I have to get more SC's

One suggestion could be that you can take a page from the DA and say their # Company is focused on one thing, in this case the BA units, rather then doing a Codex-adherent Company. So that way any BA icons could be used to represent that Company and can still be used in C:SM as Veterans.

In C:SM, which Chapter Tactics interest you so that it can give you an idea on the little fluff bits for determining your Chapter's name or color scheme?

I will most likely have both armies eventually, but atm I have little cash to spend :(. I guess the next question is, which is monetarily cheaper to play with, and which would yeild more fruitful gaming results? as both will be about the same as far as painting goes since red/blue are my favorite colors as well >.<

I would imagine that the new SM Codex can win a little more then the BA for now due to this being 6th Edition.

Paint your figures as Blood Ravens. As an unknown founding, the chapter tactics you choose to follow can be any that suit your army composition.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.
