Subject: Yellow. Which was/glaze to use?

I am in the process of painting some Howling Griffons and am stumped on the yellow. Surprise, surprise.
I have given the marines several watered down coats of Averland Sunset and can't decide how to proceed. Should I give the yellow a wash/glaze and then dry brush it with Sunset yellow?
Or would the yellow just a wash of Cassandra Yellow work fine?
After all of it is done I will be giving the yellow an edge highlight. And I am going more for a middle line shade of yellow, but more on the deeper yellow side then the brighter Imperial Fist yellow.
Thanks

just a thought, have you considered maybe basecoating over brown? and/or with your yellow in place doing a wash of a watered down xv-88 or so then a drybrush highlight of like Yriel yellow? I've done that for my BA assault marines, who have yellow helmets. It gives a rich mid yellow without being too bright, but the brown wash is enough to really help pop details.

So you would suggest an Agrax Earth shade or a Gryphon Sypia wash instead of the yellow wash then?

I actually liked Cassandra yellow on my Nordland Greatswords. If you do it without brushing, you'll end up with a deeper, slightly dirtier yellow, and a brush with sunset yellow will give you a brighter, cleaner look, which it sounds like is what you want.
Edit: Sepia can be ok, Earthshade will make them look really dirty.
You probably should do two test models though!

What do you mean "without brushing"? Like with an airbrush? Unfortunately I don't have one yet

Might I suggest uploading WIP pictures? It would really help us help you?

Totally depends what kind of yellow you wanted to begin with.
Cassandora yellow is actually fairly orange, and leads to a rich, warm yellow that is a shade of orange in the recesses.
While a brown wash; Seraphim sepia or Agrax Earth shade could be used for a cool yellow, or a warm yellow. Agrax would leave it dirty and take a little more work brightening it back up.
My suggestion is to wash sepia, then work up highlights building upto dorn yellow (edge paint the same colour as hexos palesun dry paint - you could drybrush hexos palesun)
And then to Glaze with Lamenters Yellow.

I meant "without the drybrushing" (of Averland sunset or other yellow)

Okay, I tried to upload a pic of what I want but my phone won't do it and my computer is down at the moment.
But I am trying for the yellow that Lexicanum has for the Howling Griffons picture.

This one right here. Thanks.
I used a metal model and painted it Avalorn Metal and gave it a Sepia wash and it looks really good right now. I think I'm going to dry brush it with a brighter yellow and see how it works out. I will try and some WIP photos up.
And how would you guys do the red/orange?
I am thinking Macharrite Red with a Sepia wash (to tie the whole model together) and then some red highlights/dry brushing?
