Models gain Scout and Stealth.
Bulky and Very Bulky do not benefit for either.
If a character with stealth joins a unit, normally the whole unit would gain the bonus. Same goes for Scout.

So my question is 2 pronged.
1) If a Raven Guard Tech marine joins a bulky squad (bikes, jump troops, terminators), does the normal rules for Stealth give the benefit to the squad he joins?

2) If attached characters cannot pass on Stealth, because of the Do not Benefit clause, does that mean that Raven Guard in a night fight are easier to shoot than any other army?
Sure, we're all in shades a black, but when fighting in the dark, out bikes, terminators and jump troops cannot benefit from Stealth.

Bulky and very bulky models do not benefit from the stealth on the first turn from chapter tactics. They do benefit from stealth gained through any other means.

So yes, night fighting applies, and stealth gained from attatched IC rules applies.

Shrike grants stealth to his infiltrating assault/vangaurd vet squad.

1) Yes, if one model in a unit has stealth the whole unit has stealth. The catch is that while one model in the unit is bulky or very bulky the unit does not benefit from having stealth.

edit: side note, if there is some way to make the unit extremely bulky (not aware of any myself) instead of bulky then the unit can benefit from having stealth. Not how they intended it to work I think as its odd that you can't hide a centurion but you can hide something bigger?

2) This is a tricky one. Night fighting does not say they have stealth, just that they are treated like they do. I can see good arguments on either side of this one. Also there is a huge RAI issue to deal with here as well.

This is not correct.

It should say: if one model in a unit has stealth the whole unit will benefit from the stealth rule, though the other members do not gain the stealth rule.

Treated as must mean the same as is or has, otherwise the rules break down in spectacular ways.

The crux of the matter is that the rule says units that contain models that are bulky or very bulky don't benefit. This means that if an IC joins a squad with bulky or very bulky models, then that squad does not get the stealth from CT, including the IC. Thus no stealth for bulky or very bulky units.

The exception is units which have stealth without the CT. Like with Shrike or an allied Shadowsun.

Thise units do not benefit from the CT either, but they still have their own stealth so the point is moot.
