The idea of the list is all about flexibility.
It gives me the ability to deep strike and/or reserve half the army if need be and/or provide overwhelming force in one part of the battlefield when needed.
The trick is that there are so many threat vectors that the opponent has to choose one at the detriment of the others. Does he go for the Nurgle Spawns/Lord combo, hoping to drown it with volume shots before the unit gets into CC range, or does he pick off my long ranged support which is in and of itself pretty tough? If he ignores the Plague Drones, I could precision drop on him in one turn a GUO and a whole squad of Plaguebearers, firmly planting in his backfield a massive threat to counter.
It's a Nurgle army with speed, durability, and punch. I wanted to work a Brand or Daemon lord into the list but ran out of points.
