For a while now, I have been collecting Black Templar bits with the intent of making a Templar army. However, with the release of the new codex I want to make a force that I can play as Templars or as Imperial Fists, and that would still give me the option as playing as other chapters. There's too much goodness in there to choose just one army.

My proposed chapter is The Vypers of Dorn and are based on a desert world.

I love the classic black, white, and red of the Templars but I need to change it up.

One idea has me keeping the Black base, using gold for metals, and scorpion green as a secondary color for shoulder pads, etc.

Another part of me wants to use that green as a base and have a really bright force as everything else I own is fairly dark and gritty. A more vibrant scheme would be fun.

I'd also like to have it evoke some sort of desert feeling while staying away from browns as a main color.

I'm kinda stuck here. I'm also not opposed to painting up several models and stripping the knee I don't like.

You could go for a half split Yellow and Black armor pattern, golds for metal, the throw in the green as trim for shoulder pads and stuff. Then base with desert terrain.

Eagles soar, but weasels don't get sucked into Jet Engines.

Hows about using the invaders theme. Green with Gold trim and black weapons.

Seems about right.

Personally i went with classic yellow because i can switch to angry mode for Templar

Green with gold trim and black weapons and accents seems like it might work.

I'm not really a fan of split or quartered designs. It can look good, but I don't like that sort of thing enough to put the time in on it.

Any other ideas?
