Hey all I'm a new player to warhammer 40k and I had a question. Lets say I take my crisis suit bodyguards and equip them with two drones each. I also give these crisis suits the Iridium suit upgrade. Would the overall toughness of the unit still be 4 due to there being more drones?

Average toughness. Drones are part of the unit. So yes.

Indeed, the unit's majority toughness is simply the most common toughness in the unit.
Another thing I'll address is that you seem to think about giving several suits the Iridium upgrade, but those items (special issue is it?) are limited to one in your army.

Majority toughness, drones count as normal units in all regards unless they are on their own (drone squads or detached vehicle drones, these dont score/deny but otherwise are normal).
Also Iridium Suit is a special issue wargear. You can only have 1 in the entire army, and normal Crisis Suits arent even allowed to take special issue wargear anyway. Bodyguards can, though.

A tau crisis sergeant can take signature systems in place of weapons so you could make a one of commando crisis suit with t5 is you wanted.
