what do you think would like improvements the overlord goes into the warriors the stormteks go into the immortals in scythes szeras goes into one of the scythe units too the 5 immortals take an objective in cover in my deployment zone the deathmarks are there to deal damage to the danger units and MC's and the barges are there for AA

A very nice (but cheese) combination is to take Harbingers of Despair and stick them in with your Deathmarks, allowing them to Deep Strike around the board. In addition, one of the Harbingers upgrades is a Template weapon, which when combined with the Hunters from Hyperspace, automatically hits and wounds on a 2+. I played against an army with that and it was very rage-inducing. I'm not sure if you're playing for fun or to win, but it's a cool strategy. Another thing is to take a ton of Night Scythes as Dedicated Transports and have a flying army.

yea the abyssal staff is str 8 ap 1 but wounds on the units ld but with the deathmarks wounds on a 2+ i have done that but didnt really have many points to spare for him but my list is for both having funn but winning to

Szeras isn't really worth the points, even though you have a lot of immortals. I suggest that you ditch him and get the Veiltek for the Deathmarks, because that combo is the business. Without the veiltek, I find the deathmarks need more bodies to be effective, but YMMV.

As the overlord is going with the warrior blob, ditch the phase shifter and the warscythe and take MSS instead. Might as well use the Staff of Light shooting.

I suggest you swap a Nightscythe for a Ghost ark for the warriors. I reckon 1 NS will do and the GA will make a huge difference to the survivability of the blob.

However, you don't have anything to stop assaults on your blob, which is going to hurt in the game. As you have Z, a small scarab squad will do nicely.

I would swamp the 5 man squad into the nightscythe and use the 10 man squad to hang out and shoot. Seems a better use of your firepower that way, plus 5 man squad is easy to wipe off the board in 5+ turns. Not as easy on turn 4 or 5 when they hop out of the transport to claim/contest.

I respectfully disagree. Having the lord kitted out for CC with Phaeron allows you to weaken your target with a round of shooting then charge in and finish them in assault. The scarabs also give you another important option against MC's.

I respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement for two reasons. First, this overlord didn't have Phaeron , second if you lose combat by one wound, you could lose the entire blob due to sweeping advance. I suggest it is much safer to rapid fire the incoming threat and then overwatch and in both those cases the SoL offers more benefits.

I do appreciate the effect of sheer volume of dice (44 attacks on the charge is nothing to sneeze at), I guess my blobs have a nasty tendency to get swept, which is why I always keep a group of scarabs, spiders or something handy around.

Fair enough, its sort of a crapshoot about whether a charge is more useful than more overwatch.

BTW I agree about ditching the phase shifter. That thing's expensive.

Nice. If you trade one stormtek in, you can get Zandrekh instead of your overlord. His adaptive tactics rules are really useful, for example you can give the scarabs furious charge or give the blob counterattack, which would be really nasty. You also get to take a bunch of rules away from an enemy unit each turn which is also situationally helpful.

For the immortals with the veiltek, use tesla as that gives you more leeway with landing and scatter IMO.
