This girl has so many abs stenciled on she could be an extra in a Twilight sequel. I felt the need to share this because I'm quite proud of the paint work. None of the muscles on any of the parts are actually sculpted, it's all painted on.

But i don't think that tau suit pilots are naked. Or i'm totally mistaken and there is a whole new reason for blasting open battlesuits and riptides.

One thing that looks a bit strange is the hair . Either tau have very stringy and sturdy hair or it should flow around her arm more to not look like a strange tentacley thing wrapped around her arm.

Shadow sun comes with a head as well some 3rd party makes em. (you should sculpt some to doomhammer )

The only things I can claim to have completely sculpted are the hair and the open left hand. Everything else started life as a bit of some type or another (but yes, there are female tau heads out there by Zealot Miniatures and they are quite good). This one started off as a Daemonette head and I modded it from there. The torso started as a Basicks Amazon torso (oddly enough it was *not* the naked one* and I scraped all the armor and details off.

The hair isn't perfect, but I'd only ever tried hair once before and it had been an abject failure. I learned a bit and in the future I'll have some better idea of how to make it work.

No, suit pilots aren't naked in the tau fluff, but I wanted a bit of cheesecake/pinup in my alien space gun army. I came up with a bit of fluff about how she started off as a test pilot and her prototype suit didn't have functional cooling systems, so she rigged up a fan in the cockpit and went naked rather than stew in the pilot suit. After that she just got too used to piloting "unencumbered" and made a tradition of it. Started a fad with the other pilots, too.


For reference, tau heads are very easy to make out of non-tau heads. Space Marines provide the best materials for male tau heads, especially Grey Knights and maybe the newer Vanilla ones. You just need a bald head with some exaggerated features, then cut off the nose and carve a trench in the forehead. All of a sudden it's very tau.
