Hi Dakka, I'm looking at making a Tzeentch themed list, and wish to use horrors. However I do not find the new horror models to my liking, so wish to use alternate GW models to represent them.
I have done some looking around on the matter and the most likely contenders seem to be: Mandrakes, Dryads, Ghouls (With an eye instead of a head) or possibly night goblins without arms or heads (creating a small wizard look).
Have I missed any models which you believe could represent the horrors?
If you use alternative models or have converted some please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.

The old horrors look cool, if you can get them.

Thanks, I had looked at that one already when looking for ideas.
I was considering going for the night goblin approach, (to cut off the face and hands to give them a walking robe look), and use them as horrors. However the models may be a bit too small, so I may instead use them as tzeentch themed nurglings by sticking a few on a swarm base.
For the Horrors I'm leaning towards the dryads, as seen in this picture http://www.thehogsofwar.com/2009/05/pink-horrors-conversion.html#
Though I'm not sure what conversion work, if any, is actually needed.

Looks good, but would probably suit a herald/DP more than the horrors.
Ok so I've decided I'll go with the Night goblins as horrors, and use the spare arms/legs/faces + green stuff to make nurglings.
This way I hope to turn 1 box of night goblins into 20 horrors and around 3 nurgling bases - making a daemon army on the cheap.
My next question would be - What do you think is the optimum way to remove the face of the goblins whilst keeping the shape of the hood?
I have read of people using dremel tools to do it. Is this effective? Would a power drill with the correct bit work as a replacement here if so?
Or would manually removing it with a knife work better?
Thanks.
