So I've been thinking about death company a lot recently since they don't get as much of a look in these days and have thought that drop pod saturation MIGHT be the key to get off the charge.
So which of these 3 lists looks most fun to play/play against?
All lists pretend flyers don't exist. Tbf I can ignore anything that isn't carrying scoring troops or is a helldrake as the aim is to gut their ground forces quickly.

Death co x9

I know ignoring fliers means it'll be an uphill struggle against many lists (an auto lose against flyers with scoring troops inside), but the last two lists are set up to table/wipe out scoring units or lose. Won't make for the best win rate but allows the fielding of a dc army with the chance of a win. In the second list the dreds will come down after the dc are already engaging the army and a magna grapple plus melta gun each means they have a reasonable threat level against armour on the turn they arrive. Against serpent spam i'll be wanting the opponent to unload their shields oon my recently arrived dc so my melta/dread units can pop down turn after and have some fun, with any surviving being chased by the jp unit with astorath. There are enough pfs that cant be challenged out dotted around to cause mcs headaches.

Remember this is mainly based towards fun fluffy nail biting games where me and the opponent are wondering if the dc can wipe out all scoring units before game end. I am already aware sythe spam will do me, drakes will roast me and warp spiders will play ring a ring a roses with me. Bolters on all death co (apart from packs) to provide at least a little bite further than a charge reach.
So fun? Fluffy?

4 dc pods in option c btw.

Non scoring is just a bad idea.

I totally agree with you matt when playing competitively! It forces me to react to the opponent rather than the other way around and allows them to set up traps i cant avoid if i need to get a unit off an objective, which I will need to do as I cant counter it with a scoring objective of my own. But with the lists being built to table it means im not totally giving up all chance.
What I want to know is, do you think it'll be fun to play in a friendly setting or do you see any player getting bored with playing this list as it will always be an uphill struggle?
I like the IDEA of it fluff wise and have most the models but will I regret forking out for another 4 pods (i only own 3), just to run this list later on down the line?
